My Search and Rescue dog was imported from the Netherlands 41/2-5 years ago. Tango v. Kleym Hammer. He came with a BH and "A" stamp. Please explain the "A" stamp. Also having lost the import info. can I obtain a copy of the "A" stamp. I do stand him at stud. To date he has sired very good SAR dogs with tons of drive for disaster work. Thank you Sarah Atlas & Tango, Szara and Katrina z. Eurosportu NJ-TF1

The a-stamp is the HD certification issued by the SV, the German Shepherd Club of Germany. A foreign bred dog can also get an a-stamp. A GSD with Dutch papers should have the a-stamp entered on the back side of the registration (Stamboom) issued by the Raad van Beheer, which is a single page and laminated. Since you need his registration papers if you want to breed him so that you can get AKC papers for him, you should then also have his a-stamp. Your dog is entered in the SV database and is listed as HDa-normal (HDa1) and has a current ZW of 97.

If a dog from the Netherlands in Germany is X-ray’t the A stamp is on the last page of the Rashonden Logboek thats a official document issued of the Raad van Beheer.
