A new state law in New Jersey has just been proposed and has a fair chance of being passed. See the article below. It is my understanding that there is a international groundswell building for an end to anonymous, unvalidated posting in general on the web as part of the public's building reaction to the many abuses of spam,porn-popups, anaonymous flaming, flogging, harrassment and annoying. Many are now fed up with all this against them on web forums and are putting pressure on their lawmakers at the state and federal level to taske serious preventative action. Corporate busineses have estimated spam costs them millions each year in wasted bandwidth and memory and are now lobbying heavily for greater federal control and criminalization of this "anonymous" posting. The day may be coming when no anonymous, spoofed or fake multiple identity postings will be allowed and will be "criminalized" at the felony level. Anyone from the USA who continues to anonymously attack, harass, flame, annoy or threaten others on this forum or any other already risks being investigated and having felony criminal charges brought against them under the new US Federal law which was already passed and signed. State laws will follow and will likely be even tougher. It is now getting to the point where actual or veiled threats will be easily investigated, charged and prosecuted under new homeland security policies against terrorism since these are now often reported as and considered to be "terroristic threats". http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/2006/Bills/A1500/1327_I1.HTM

Preston, Get a life! We have heard this spiel before. If you need help, go to your local authorities instead of mucking up this discussion forum.

hodie and sherry. My comments on this subject weren't for fun and games like the many destructive comments made in the past which drove numerous good folks off this site by use of insults, ego-based personal attacks under the guise of slickstick humor. Perhaps you weren't reading the forum posts when what I am referring to happened. And perhaps you don't care if this forum is trashed and vandalized and experienced breeders with lifetime achievements in breeding and training are needlessly driven away from contributing helpful information. Perhaps if you had spent a substantial amount of time posting pictures and pedigree information on this site and someone vandalized those postings under a spoof set of identities you wouldn't care. Many folks do care about this type of vandalism, however. I think most folks would agree that this type of behavior is destructive to the site and it's valuable information. hodie, you say get a life. You know nothing about me personally and assume I have have no life or achievements. Why don't you keep your personal insults off the web and e-mail me directly. We can talk on the phone and you can insult me anyway you want then. I doubt you have any idea what occured on this wonderful site in the past which repeated trashed it and cause it to crash for weeks on multiple occasions. I don't think it is funny. It is sad that folks have used this site annonymously to attack, villify, insult and annoy rather than gain and share knowledge on the breed. And I don't care if folks like or dislike my post on this subject. If they don't like it they can let it drop off and they can also contact me by e-mail since I do not hide behind spoof names. I'll bet that within the next five years thanks to the behavior I am mentioning, we will all lose much of our web freedom internationally and stateside, and no posting will be allowed to be anonymous. This kind of gov't intervention and bureacratic overcontrol is always the final reaction to the abuse of a few sickos upon the vast majority, unfortunately. So we all pay the price. I'm sure that is why Ed Frawley instituted such high tech validation measures on his site.
