Hi all, I'm sitting here with nothing better to do since I broke my leg. So I had a thought.....would'nt it be nice to start a thread recognizing those who have been so helpful to others on this board for quite some time? Me thinks it would! With that in mind, let me be the first to say a huge THANK YOU to folks like D.H.,SGBH,Silbersee,Dog1 ,Preston (where have you been?)Patiala, Gertrude Besserwisser, Pineridge,and others who have so graciously poured forth knowledge and advice with PERSPECTIVE, so often and so freely!!! There are of course others,so please do not be offended if I have failed to mention you. I am quite sure that I speak for alot of people when I say that you guys are worth your weight in gold!!! As I look over threads from long ago,I realize how much passion there is in the GSD world....some of it misguided,but all of it informative to some degree or another. I even thank some of the ...shall we say less sophisticated members who if nothing else , open the door for education that benefits us all.....hey , I have to find the good in people!!! Maybe it's the pain medication LOL! In any case, with all the bickering that so often takes place here , I just wanted to offer a moment to put things in their proper focus. And to the above mentioned (and unmentioned) your input on this board has been and IS invaluable. I for one , hope that you will continue to post insight and information that will continue to enlighten us all! Just thought you might like to hear it said for a change.....YOU ARE GOLDEN!!!! Dear dshlerner, thanks for the kind comments. I stopped participating on this web site when one very sick individual began to repeatedly generate and use multiple names as cover to vilify, harass and pose veiled threats of many types to thus attack a number of regular participants on this site, especially the more knowledgable and experienced ones who challenged the abuse and insults made by this individual. This same person apparently has done this to a number of other GSD related sites and has been allegedly summarily barred from them for such abusive acts. This same individual brazenly threatened others with prosecution under existing e-laws related to cyberstalking, which actually were very limited to state law only at the time and were being misquoted out of context and misapplied, and when this individual was probably violating their own state laws in doing so. This kind of duplicity, insulting and abuse could only occur on this site because there has been no oversight by the web-master and no actually verified registration with validation of the users of this site. In spite of this site's gross deficiencies, there is now some very good news which should put an end to any such abusive postings from the USA, especially the upper eastern seabord area. I am happy to report that there is now a new federal e-law with teeth in it that has been passed in the USA which makes it a federal crime for someone in the USA to harass others on the internet, and especially to harass them without listing their actual name, that is by using a flase identity. That is, anonomous or cloaked harassment from someone in the USA is now a federal offense. This means that the individual I am referring to could easily find themselves in big trouble if they assume multiple anonymous and false identities and then vilify and harass others on ther internet.

Dear dshlerner (part two): I will attempt to list this reference for this new US Federal Law in another post. As an aside, it is important to note that I was told by a very informed source awhile ago that in the USA there have been paid gov't and/or proprietary agitators that are attempting to spread as much chaos as possible on popular websites through the means I have noted above. The purpose of these agent-provocateurs? to create enough public outrage in the USA at these anonymous harassments that citizens will push their gov't officials to pass draconian laws regulating the internet and which could be possibly be later used to tranform it into a fee based system like the current international long distance phone system. My own view is that this individual I am referring to is possibly a paid provacateur or at least a very disturbed individual who wants to spread chaos and bully from behind a false identity cover. Anyhow, I believe that now this individual's "fun and games" may be over and the great destructive toll they have taken on this site disrupting helpful and useful communications may be over. Sometimes you find that one such very abusive individual has a few friends who know his/her identity and play along to create a sort of subculture of sadistic humor at everyone else's expense. They may do this to feel superior to the others and feel powerful that they can collectively trash such a valuable site as this. This destruction is viewed as a trophy by them and they feel powerful and special. Only the web host can take measures to see that individuals who post are who they say they are and anyone destroying or falsifying photos or data is barred and prosecuted under any existing laws in any jurisdiction applicable. And that means you, Oli! If you cannot do this then appoint a board of monitors to do so and set rules for them to enforce. You know of many prominant, ethical folks who have used site who are likely willing to help, folks who are worthy and can be trusted to do a good job. By the way, Oli are you back from the USA? Please come out of the cold and make a posting to us all if you are still the one actually owning and running this excellent site. Let us know how you are doing and how we can communicate with you. And know that many of us are willing to pay a modest yearly users fee for those that want to post.

As a new GSD person to this sight I can certainly say I enjoy reading this message board. It is interesting to see what other people are going through. Its nice to read what other people feel or have done with some of the same issues that you are faced with.I get a little discouraged when people go off topic....but hey we are all human. I will try in the future not to do this.Thanks to everyone here. You made this an important part of this website.
