Are there any AKC bench champions that have a SchH III. Has a dog achieved an AKC championship and then gone on to get a SchH title? Just wondering. A thread of curiosity. Bruce

im sure there is one or two out there but im willing to say the sch 3 wasnt worth very much. And if some how it did reach sch3 i doubt it could ever produce a pup that could do it. Im not anti show dog, but feel the AKC shepard has very little if any working ability.

what about a dog coming over here from Europe with a V or VA rating and then getting an AKC CH title? I guess I have not been to an AKC dog show for a long time but I would thing a V or VA rated dog could certainly finish an AKC championship if just to prove the point. I guess I'm just naive (sp?)...

Certain German dogs could probably do very well in the AKC show ring, depending on their angulation, etc., but I also doubt if any AKC show dogs would seriously have the working ability to accomplish SchH 3. Without a doubt there are a couple of World Seigers that could give the AKC show dogs a run for their money. Yasko vom Farbenspiel being one I can think of. But that's an opinion....

There are very many beautiful and correct German GSD's, and a few beautiful and correct AKC GSD's. I agree that the working ability is very questionable on the AKC GSD. It has been a long time since a German-bred SchH3 dog became an AKC dual champion. A very long time.

Not sure what you mean by an AKC dual Champion, but I do know of 2 living dogs imported from Germany with Sch III that are also AKC champions. Jim v Fiemereck owned and imported by by Dan Smith and another male owned by Morton Goldfarb, soory I've forgotten that dog's name. Jim was also the Canadian Sieger. Jim is probably close to 10 now and Goldfarb's dog might be 5 or 6. There may be others.

Currently Ch. Jim v Fiemereck is a SchH3 AKC Champion and a Register of Merit producer of AKC winning progeny. He is also VA at a USA Sieger Show. I have a young German line dog today who is undefeated at four major Specialties in the States. My Select Champion Dingo v Haus Wurdemann SchH3 not only finished his championship but went Select at the GSDCA National. German Sieger Bodo v Lierberg SchH3 came to this country and finished in 3 shows and went Winners Dog and Select at the GSDCA National. My Ch. Masko v Koenigstein SchH3 finished his championship in the States. He was VA2 in Switzerland. Select Ch Asslan v Klammle SchH3 went Select in the States 4 times. My Ch. Yorg v Schloss Ahaus SchH3 made his championship in the States. I know of one AKC line dog who traing to SchH1 back in the 1960s. There is much more possibility of a German Dog making an AKC championship than an American line dog achieving a SchH3. The AKC dogs in the 1960s were to a great degree from half German Pedigrees. If one expects to maintain particular virtues in a line of dogs the breeding animals must in each generation be TESTED for those virtues. If no testing takes place those virtues will quickly disappear. i.e. the German dogs are tested for their gait while the AKC dogs are never tested for their courage, intelligence, and tracking instincts.
