Shelley Strohl

OK, I'll bite (get it? ha ha ha) MY Dog was lucky as hell to pass. After the practice Friday I was nervous as hell Saturday morning: I pretty much knew what kind of shit MY DOG was going to pull. I had imported the dog only a few weeks before. We had NOT worked the routine. I was so nervous after my 5 minutes of practice on Friday (our FIRST!) I didn't sleep and nearly forgot the routine the next morning. I suffered some serious-but-well-deserved criticism for f**king up and ending up on the wrong side of the field when I whould have been at the start position ("As long as she's been around, she should KNOW better!") Point taken... Merciful God, he heeled well, outed late on the attach out of the blind, heeled to the second blind (okay he left me early on the courage test because I was showing off not holding his collar) and I lost my voice screaming AUS 3 times as he worked his way up the sleeve and bullied the helper after the long bite. Uh oh. We seemed to have run out of training... SHIT! Actually, I didn't think he HAD passed. I didn't see it, but aparently he must have opened his mouth just a wee bit further, long afte my third out, because after I grabbed his collar to drag him off the helper and take his sorry ass home, I heard the music to my amazed and dumbfounded ears: Augebracht: letz aus! I waould like to take this oportunity to thank the Lord, Herr Sheerer, The Academy.... you get the picture. Too bad the judge hated my fat, out-of-shape gray working dog. Despite his 2x V in the BSZS, he handed us worst the placing of my dog's career. Point taken. We deserved that, I suppose. We'll be back. But next time, we'll be dead-fit and loaded for bear. SS
