I was wondering for a working line puppy what should be the price be around? lowest-highest? I talked to a few breeders which I am not going to name on here and their prices seem pretty high up, why? I talked to a certain kennel and their price for the puppy was $3,500USD!
I would maybe understand it if it was a top show quality puppy but that is not even a guarantee. I had the impression that a working line puppy would be around a 1,000USD or so for good quality. Few kennels I've talked to was way above the original budget I set to pay for a puppy.
What is your take on puppy prices? I'm just curious and would like to hear from people their take on prices of puppies and what they should be? is it is it justifiable? Should it be lower or higher? It seems to be a lot of breeders are more worried about money than dogs/puppies or the customer? Thanks.

However, for a good bloodline, good parents working lines puppy, you should pay anywhere between 1000$ to 1500$ per pup.
I have seen decent bloodlines litters sell for a bit less, and great bloodlines litters sell for a bit more, but above is the ballpark, with median being around 1200$ for a good pup with proven parents. Hope that helps.
What country are you living in?

I am living in the united states right now. I've noticed a lot of breeders here jack up the prices really high because they have a imported parents and the parents have a few titles. I also noticed that usually they do not pay huge amounts of money for the imported dogs. I talked to a lot of breeders from europe and eventually they lower the price or they get it for a good fair price.
But on the other side when I talk to breeders from europe their prices are very reasonable to me only thing is the shipping. They try to jack up the shipping prices if it's your first time getting a puppy from over seas. But for a good puppy from proven parents in europe they have excellent prices. But once you add the shipping then the price gets to be high up there.
I also did not mean to offend anybody here. This is just a few breeders I know for a fact there is excellent breeders in the united states and europe that really have fair prices and have a good reputation and care about their dogs and where they go. There will always be few bad apples but I see it more here with the prices than europe.
I mean by no means am I expert with prices but some prices tend to be sometimes pretty ridiculous. It also gives you hints about the kennel and what their goal is. I just wanted to see what a good price range is for a good working quality puppy. It seems like everybody has a different price for puppies some have low, some have medium, and some have overboard prices.
Thanks.

He has already won his first sectional trial for this, two more trials to go the second trial this Saturday, and he is very good indeed,
The owner of the kennel in the USA is asking $900 for a Pup, which is very reasonable looking as to how they are bred

$3500. is ridiculous for any working line puppy. The most I ever took for one was $2400., and only then because I didn't want to sell him, was offered more than I could refuse by a person who fell in love with him. I still kick myself for letting him go because they didn't train him to title after all. (divorced, moved to a place with no club access within 300 miles)
