Falcon12

by Falcon12 on 30 October 2009 - 21:10

My female turned 2 years about a month ago and I would like to get her hips x-rayed for OFA purposes.  I've read many threads on the PDB where folks have pointed out that positioning is very important during the x-ray process.  So I'm looking for recommendations in the Raleigh, North Carolina area of where to go to get these done.  Thanks...

Falcon12,
I also live in the Raleigh area.  I have not used this place yet, but asked my vet for a recommendation and this is who they gave me.  My puppy just turned 1 today and I am going to take her here for prelims.  They are here in Raleigh!

Thank you both for your suggestions, I'm sure I'll wind up going over there.  Especially since I'm about 20 minutes from Cary.  Any idea what to expect in terms of pricing for a set of OFA X-rays?

Thanks again...

Yes, when I called them they said around $150-$200 for the ofa xrays, I think it depends on the sedation method.

I just had Roxy's hips done and was pleased that my vet would allow us to get it done without any sedation.  It was great, she let me go in with her.  Told my dog to jump up on the table, downed her, we layed her over, put her on her back and she just froze, didn't move an inch.  What a proud mamma I was.  The positioning turned out so good, the vet is keeping a copy to show others.

Good luck.
