What an awesome day in New England.. i think this is the best time of the year around here to train. Its like crisp cool air and the dogs are all pumped up... biting hard, and horsing around. Actually they seem to have TOO much energy sometimes.. but thats better than less. Productive day.. got some training on all 3 dogs in and then got to ride my bike running crisp too... i only have a Honda 750 for now... waiting on the Police trade in Lowrider wouldda been a PERFECT day had i been able to get to the range before 2:00. I wanted to get down the there in time to practice with the .45 upcoming contests i gotta practice... have to keep up my tomboy princess reputation LOL few months ago i actually won against 5 other guys all using my .45 at 50ft i was psyched!!! this is how the dogs, when they are young, get used to the noises... they love working down there so much wildlife in the fields and great place to run around too. well wish i had more folks around here to get me motivated for tracking this weekend LOL i HAVE to start again MONDAY!!! Hope everyone had a great weekend too!! Regards, Dawnmarie

wow Dawnmarie sounds like a perfect day. Making me feel a bit lazy. We are enjoying a great day here in Tx also. Nice breeze going by and cloudy not sure the temp but feels like high 70's not bad. lol My son is very excited about Halloween and trick or treeting tonight. I hear it is to rain so we will see how that goes. I also need motivation to track. I just dont find it as much fun as the obediance and the protection. I have a tendancy to end up doing agility instead. lol Heather

Well...here in Florida...it's a beautiful day too...the only thing is it's about 87...but can't complain...usually it's a heck of a lot hotter...the humidity seems to be down too...my new 3 month old puppy from Germany says it's still to damn hot for her...soon we'll be down to the low 80's!

I got a whole lot of nothing done, but your right on Re the weather here today, perfect day......I thought the weather man was calling for rain?Wolf, Fla huh? now your talking..lol. fish and swim year round.....what am I doing here? Good for you and your 87.All take that all day long.

by WolfGang on 31 October 2004 - 23:10

Yeah...but sometimes you'd just like to have a cooler day once in awhile...like maybe in the 70's or lower 80's...actually I can't complain this is the most beautiful time of the year here...early in the mornings or later in the day you actually can go without the A/C...I'm just taking a break from cutting my grass (5 acres)...then I can go out and do a little more training...the dogs really love it...I was in Virginia/Maryland/DC in June for the DVG Natl's and the people there from Canada were complaining about the heat...it was in the 70 and 80's during the daytime and down into the 60's at night...our dogs were just have a "great" time!!!

Sounds nice Wolf, I always talk about it but have never even been, But there is no doubt in my mind I would love it thereThe older I get the more I hate winter here......and it really is not all that bad...lol.

Oh yeah...year around swimming & fishing. Someone forgot to mention the mosquitos like a blanket over everything, the flying teradactyl "palmetto bugs", the multitude of poisonous bufo toads..and the occasional alligator in ones backyard!!! A/C year around (what a cost to pay for comfort) Dogs are miserable in the heat and humidity. The only time they enjoy going out is dawn and dusk and that is when the pests are at their highest numbers, and the toads are EVERYWHERE! at least I have a screened in pool area that the dogs love, but somehow those nasty crab-spiders find their way in there and set up housekeeping overnight! Ahhhh sunny south Florida......

by WolfGang on 01 November 2004 - 03:11

Well I forgot to say...but I do have a small lake in my backyard...and from time to time we have to remove the "small" alligators from it...and some of my young dogs go for a swim in there...they just don't know...I also have Jack Russell Terriers that just don't know what's lurking...but heaven is all in ones eye...there are lots of bugs and not even to mention the hurricanes...I used to love the heat...but the older I get the more I enjoy the "cooler" weather...went to Germany in Sept for the Bundessieger and it went down into the 50's...they laughed because I had to go out and buy gloves...and was still cold....!
