Okay, I have a 10.5 month old female that I,ve had since she was 10 weeks old. Vet gave her a clean bill of health last week. Well fed, Chicken thigh and leg 1/4 in the morning and 3 cups TOTW at nite. Nice weight ( actually a little chubby for the training director). This female is the biggest S__t eater i,ve ever owned!!!. I,ve had young dogs with this issue but after a couple set ups with fresh poop ( other dogs not her own) and a pinch and lead and a nice NO and correction always did the job.  Not this one she will act like a starving man on a christmas ham directly after eating a full evening meal. It seems the harder I correct her away the harder she struggles to get to it. I,m no slouch I can give a convincing and distinct pinch correction. If my wife tries to walk her on leash she will still go after her little turd cravings... I,ve about had it with this little female. It,s a compulsion on her part to go after it. Could some type of insecurity be at the root? Stress? Alien abduction???

Bob, try taking her off chicken. Doesn't make any sense, but an adult female of mine was doing that, and after nothing else worked I changed her diet. No more poopeating since I took her off chicken.

joanro:

I,ve switched foods, off the raw, on  raw only, several different foods it has always been a issue not just a recent accourance. I,m thinking about a exorcist.

LOL Bob! I'm sorry to hear about the problem, but your post is hilarious!

I do hope you can find a solution - is this a new problem for her, or has she always done this?

Always attracted to it but as she is getting older she seems to get  more compulsive about it. She is a nice female excellent drives, well bred, good working structre she will be a small female but correct. I,m coming to the end of my rope.

God, if an exorcist doesn't work, what then?!! Try collecting a bowel full for every meal and maybe she'll get sick of a steady diet of it! :)

Reverse psychology joanro? lol

Oh dear, I'm not sure what to do about it other than what you're doing. I'm guessing she doesn't often get to give you any kisses! BLECH!

My parents Lab ate an entire pile of horse poop while my dad was distracted. You think it smells bad coming out the first time? When she threw up, I almost did too. Oh it was awful!  :/

Have you tried the poop deterrent pills? Or is that not an option, because you've got too many dogs in your pack?

Try this: http://www.amazon.com/Excel-8IN1-DETER-120-TAB/dp/B001B7L2YE/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1334852330&sr=1-1-catcorr .  One of mine would purposely wait to get into her crate to do her #2 so she could eat in peace w/o having to worry about me correcting her for it!  There's other products too, and I've tried many, but this worked the best for mine at least and the price is reasonable.

Try this - collect a few choice turds, coat in burn-your-lips-off hot sauce, let your pup go for it.

I had a young dog that this worked great on :o)
