If you scroll back a pager or two, you will find the discussion.

I love Taste of the Wild. It's great, and it's an ALL LIFE STAGES FORMULA, so you virtually never have to worry about switching once they "reach that age" kind of thing. My dog's coat looks stunning on it, and I've noticed other health benefits as well.

Not a bad price either, about $50 for a 25lb bag at the petstore. It is also GRAIN FREE and HOLISTIC. Right up my alley :)

I'll 2nd Taste of the Wild...There are 4  flavors...2 of a Higher Protein content and 2 of a Lower content...

I think two of them are 32% and the other two are 25%...I use the 25% on my entire kennel...You can switch from one flavor to another although they weren't made to do so...If switching you'd have to treat it like another dog food...

I also feed RAW Chicken...

I guess the price is different in different places...I get the 30 lb bags and pay around $36.00

Q Man, really? Where the hell do you go? Seriously, I have NEVER seen the price below $45.00 and that was a SALE.

Are you buying in bulk or something?

Sorry about hijacking the thread, but that is one heck of a deal!

I've noticed that TOTW now offers a puppy formula. High Prairie Puppy, 28 % Protein. I buy my TOTW at Tractor Supply, and pay $46.99 for a 30 # bag.

We have also had good luck with Taste Of The Wild. We pay $39.00 for 30 pounds of it from the local Ace hardware store. The dogs Love it and they all have great looking coats.

"i know orijen is to high in protein at her puppy ages"........completely false.  Comes down to digestablility of the protien sources.  The amount of biological content in Orijen makes for safe protein levels even for puppies.  It's calcium and Phosphorous are also the correct levels which is probablly more important than protien content.    The only time I would worry about protien levels is when the protein is coming from non biological sources such as grain.  I am currently raising a puppy on Orijen Lg Breed and I have never seen a more healthy looking puppy.  coat looks great, rediculously athletic and coordinated and muscle tone is awesome.  Also his growth has been at nice slow pace.

IMO, be more concerned with the calcium and phosphorus levels and be sure not to over feed!
