I just thought I would put this on here so people could check this out. Seems like something that could be a good deal down the lines, not just for SchH people eihter. A New kind of registry! http://www.wsba.us

That looks great! It is a problem that AKC will not place SV or SchH on the pedigrees. I hear that the AKC is now considering SchH.I am not up to date on what happened with this. Their policy of not allowing any sport where a dog shows agression towards humans is what kept the GSDCA from holding SchH events. Best Wishes, Jo-Ann

Hi Jo Ann, The WDA woring dog program is kind of probation, and has been for I think a year now. The first two trials were held if I am correct last October, one in Florida, the other on Colorado. Both went well so now we will see what the year brought. I hope its all GOOD! Regards, Jerry

actually they are calling the titles for "working dog sport" well wait.. here check this out http://www.gsdca-wda.org/workingdogsport.htm i think its a great idea for folks who have dogs who may not quite make in the german ring... i applaud anyone who is willing to go the extra mile not everyone can handle the drives of workin/german showlines.. there are alot of am breds that can compete in this and have more of a chance... after they get a taste of this... they will move on to the "next" type of GSD :) been there, did that LOL here we are now Dawnmarie

The AKC program has been tabled and not being actively discussed. It is not on the agenda for the next meeting according to the posts on the yahoo group concerning the program.

After just reading about "Dangerous Dog Conference" on this Message Board, one might think twice before adding any dogs and your name to a "Public" registry. Adding titles to AKC or any registry MIGHT raise a red flag.

Exactly why the schutzhund program is likely to be in limbo forever with AKC. Reps from every breed club get to vote on it, and try explaining the positives of the test to a breeder of a toy breed! Also why I get the AKC titles and certifications of Canine Good Citizen and Companion Dog at a minimum - so I can take those to the magistrate or my insurance man when necessary.
