Right now we are looking at few kennels here in the states and Amurlee(spelling?) and Arlett kennels. Thanks all for the help Vereinigte

It is not about lines it is about individuals. Seek the help from an expert in conformation.

Vereinigte, Are you wanting to use your next bitch in schutzhund or wanting her more in conformation? It really depend on what you are wanting to do. Theirs just plan hardcore conformation people who really want to do conformation with their dogs and not schutzhund ( they pay people to train their dogs in schutzhund because it's too much of a hard work to do it in their case). If your looking for an adult showline bitch please contact me.

Vereinigte, I am sure you are aware that every litter has its high end and "not so high end" I would be a little weary of anyone who speaks only of pedigrees. There are a number of dogs that I am truly a fan of. No one can say, Get a Hill Farbenspiel daughter and you will be ok, Although I have a Hill daughter who I absolutely adore. If you are pleased with the dogs you have now, apply the same thoughts when getting your next. There are a number of Kennels that have a spectacular reputation in the ring. Good luck in your search, and remember common sense. (some people forget that)

Carl, I 100% agree with you. Pedigrees doesn't mean a thing. I almost fell into that pattern until I had to get my self more educated. I almost was willing to spend 2000 dollars on a puppy that came from VA parents. I'm glad I was using my head when I got my girl :) I was lucky because My girls parents are LOCALLY and I could even see them in person and to see their true temperament, personality and most important health and working ability. Their both outstanding dogs that I had to get a female out of the litter and Im glad that i did.

Hey, I agree with the others. Do your research and don't just relie on the pedigree to prove the dog..Look for reputable breeders who will answer your questions and be happy to show you their dogs and have you visit their kennel. Just because a puppy is from VA parents doesn't mean that he or she will live up to the parents.I would look at many kennels before I made a decision, see who is willing to work with you , has a written contract, and also has other progeny available for you to see. Also ask for references and check them! Some people will ask for a reference and once a breeder says they can provide them, they don't pursue it. Really good breeders have a reputation to uphold and usually are more than willing for you to speak to happy clients and see their dogs in the ring etc. Any breeder that tries to push up in a certain direction and won't answer questions or acts like you're wasting their time, then you are wasting yours, walk away!

Sorry I meant push you in a certain direction.( not push up)

Amaras, exactly! I would first try and see if you could find any local breeders in your area. Viewing the parents is VERY important. If the breeder has the stud dog than that's great because you can see the combination of the temperament and working abity of your next dog.

There are sooo many strong working conformation lines, there are many folks who HOT their showlines too... you have to do your research, see what you like, stick to the standard, temperament, health and structure next etc... Working ability in showlines, IMO, is VERY important. There are many great showlines in Germany, Spain, Italy, that continue to work hard. As we know, its the training as well, no matter where the dog comes from East German working or West German show, they need good training, even a working line dog can not do well because of bad training, they are not born knowing what to do lol There are dogs that are just pushed through SchH and get a terrible rap, seen that first hand, then they blame the showlines Good foundation lines for working show, Cello, Amigo/Quartz, to name a few. Go to the shows, watch the progeny out of these dogs or even any dog/bitch when working in protection DO YOUR HOMEWORK and DONT RUSH! Regards, Dawnmarie
