Hi!, I've got a male puppy, 5 months by now, from a well known breeder and from a good line of blood, his ancestors had normal lenght hair, with a woolly undercoat , 2 months ago my dog was "lost" my wife found it in a nearby farm and only recognize him by his ear tattoo, 'cause somebody changed the dog's color with Hydrogen Peroxide causing the dog to look red, now he has developed a coat shorter than his parents without the woolly underlayer, is that a by product of the H.P. (a temporary situation) or a genetic development (a permament one), somebody has an idea?

After asking your Vet, You might try shaving the problem areas. Remember your pup will need protection from the cold if the area in question is large.

It should be a temporary situation. I have seen a lot of dogs (grown up dogs mind you) colored with HP (It is "normal" practice for the shows). They all eventually go back to their normal color. Winter is comming (at least here) and hair will start falling off.

Thank you for your inputs, I'll wait to see if there is any change.
