JOZOLLI

I wonder Solo, if you will give me your opinion.... and Im attempting not to clog another dogs comments page with our conversation... I was an admirer of Apoll Laacher Haus in his day. A beautiful dog. I think Varus is of very similar type - at least in body and proportions. How does this lie with you? Completely disagree and blow me out of the water or...?

This is a very interesting question, one which I have examined myself. The reason being is that Magic, with her litters, clearly allows the Sire to make a large contribution to the puppies, with three extra's (so to speak) thease are added substance/bone strength, better coats, and very friendly temperaments (NOT SQUIRMY) friendly with people, dogs, puppies etc, LOVES LIFE. I sincerely believe the substance, bone strength comes from Apoll. Varus also has an expression much like Apoll, Looking at the picture of Apoll I can clearly see his stamp in Varus. When I saw Apoll gain his VA, and the previous day, I was VERY impressed with him, and his inclusion in Magic's pedigree certainly influenced my decision to buy her.

My thanks. It struck me immediately when I saw the dog. I don't think its so obvious just in pictures but the type is definately similar. Incidently - there are far better pictures of Varus around than the one on this site, you should perhaps update.

I wish I could hold of one. Varus is so friendly he is a pain in the arse to photograph.

I agree about the picture. He is lovely in the flesh; beautiful bouncy friendly dog. Having only seen pictures of him he was not originally my first choice of stud, but he really impressed me when I met him, so I'm now looking forward to puppies from him...... (He's a gentleman with his girls BTW!) AND at the risk of niggling the critics on this board, David and Rhoda were AS ALWAYS helpful and friendly. I had to leave Wood Green before the end on Sunday, so I'm sorry to say I missed his class, otherwise I would have been cheering him on! Jane.
