I have a friend who has become enamored with the Czech line dogs.  He happened apon a very nice male, great drives, and so far seems to have a very nice temperament.   He now wants another.  I think he was very lucky in his getting of the male he has now.

Because of his inexperience with this line of dogs, I'm trying to help him find out who is breeding good ones, and would be open to talking and helping him learn, along with finding him another.

Thanks for any help in finding breeders in the US.

Becky

www.vomholtzberg.com   Great people,  We have a female CZech from them and they have been great for over 2 .5 years. I still email with questions and they answer same day.    My dog is Kendahl Cobet Vomholtzberg

her pictures are also on the website

My friend's daughter is the breeder. They have really nice dogs, not pure czech though. I'm getting a pup from them this spring. :]

Where is your friend located? It is best to find a good breeder within your locality if at all possible. Let us know and perhaps there will be appropriate breeders to recommend.

I have only heard good things about Eurosport.  When I was looking I did contact them and they were very helpful.  Wound up with another young adult czech lines dog (grim van der woude in the database) but that is just how things worked out.

He is located in Nevada, about a hour and half from Vegas.

I am relaying everything that is said and posted to him.

He is finding it very exciting visiting the websites you've posted, and is soaking up information faster than I can find it for him.

He has asked me to ask you if anyone's heard or done business with Alpine K9, or Freundeskreis Hundesport.

Thanks for helping.

The other question for your friend is what does he want the dog for and hope to do with it.

He's a short hop flight from the Bay area where Randy Tyson is. Tyson-Witmer Imports currently has several Czech studs and some great Czech bitches.  Randy is very very knowledgeable about all GSD lines and has owned and trained a number of the greats.  http://www.randytyson.com/HausTysonGermanShepherdDog.htm  or  http://witmertysonimports.com/

There was also another thread recently where someone was inquiring about Czech dogs in Northern CA - you might want to take a look at the recommendations there. See http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/bulletins_read/143888.html
