WHAT A JOKE! 50% OF FEMALES ARE VA IN THE USA, AND 40% OF MALES ARE VA! I LOOKED UP SOME OF THE VAs and there is a few horrible dogs

by Ibrahim on 24 October 2011 - 17:10

Really ?!!! I think this competition was a tough one, Many fine dogs were there, If I had authority I would add at least 5 more to the winning VAs. The contestors carried the torches and shed some light for others to follow, some do the work and others talk.

Two posts this person signed up to give make it just sound like sour grapes. Ignore it.

If people want to bad mouth it all they have to do is join in and show us they do it better right? It is easy to critisize what you are not accomplishing. People do not get the results they want for their own dog or are not out there doing something in the ring of course are not happy with the show but either get active in fixing a problem if you see one or work on your dog to get better rating if that is the sour taste in your mouth. I have heard it is all politics excuses and I bet some of it does exist but I can tell you with 100 percent certainy I never paid anyone off and I am a no body and my dog did 3rd at a sieger and I was floored and did not expect it. You can have an awesome dog but it is what that day brings, the dogs of that day, the performance of the dogs of that day, the handling of that day, the condition of that day.... I am sure you get it by now. All you can do is your best, some times it is enough, sometimes it is not. If you think something is wrong about it get off the keyboard and in the ring to fix it. People with dogs that have great bitework, come on in and show how it is done? We keep hearing about this amazing concept of good bitework and that the show dogs have crap bitework but no one comes to show us.

Congratulations to all of those that worked hard towards the show and competed no matter your placement.

I agree with the one poster who said it's a joke. I have no sour grapes, am not associated or affiliated with anyone or any dog, but there is no way 50% of the females and that high % of males should be VA. This has nothing to do with how the competitors did, just a comment on the placings.

That is at least a proper way to discuss what you see as a problem. I can respect that. I do however think it should be made into a thread and not pinned to one congratulating some good people that should not have this here like Robin.

by autobahn on 24 October 2011 - 19:10

Yes I agree it should be made into its own thread and for that I apologize. I have nothing but respect for the people who go out there and compete. My post was more about the placings. Too many VAs given out, is all.

Big congratulations to all the successful competitors, and a big "keep at it!" to any whose rating were not as high as they would have liked.

Ibrahim,

Thanks so much!!! We had a great time and are extremely proud of both Zamp for his V6 placing and his daughter Malibu for her SG7 placing in a very tough 12-18 female class. My expectations were exceeded this weekend and for this I am thankful!! It was also great to get to meet Robin and Carlos, sweet people that work hard and love the dogs above all else, and yes you can tell this from even just a short meeting it is that visible. I also got to meet Ruger1 and Keith G. and it was a pleasure, it is so fun to put a face to the names . Thanks to everyone that worked their butts off to put on a great show, I have to say it seemed to run quite smoothly and if there were any glitches in the production they went unnoticed by me :) I was so happy to see on Facebook this afternoon that the female that was lost for four days at the hotel was finally caught and is in safe hands now, I can't imagine what they were going through, I know I would have been an absolute wreck if it were my dog that was missing!! The new owners were so worried and are just the sweetest people, I am glad they got their happy ending . Anyways, thanks again and we look forward to the next time we all meet :)
