What about the UK team for the forthcoming WUSV in Germany later on this year has that been sorted out yet
Steve

No, It's the same pathetic system as that of the FCI's, GSDL send 2 teams and BASGD send 3 teams to the WUSV with the same controversy of BASDG selection process, where by 2 of the teams going to the WUSV never  even qualified at their own qualifying trials...go figure!!

BAGSD will not agree to any changes.
BAGSD have around 30 members in the Schutzhund Sport in the UK
GSD League have around 200 members in the Schutzhund Sport in the UK.

(numbers can be corrected - if from a reliable source)

These are the two WUSV Clubs in the UK

PROBLEM: WUSV insist that the two clubs AGREE on the TEAM.

BAGSD simply sit back and insist on a 50 - 50 split of the team, half for BAGSD and half for GSD League.
(5 are split 3&2+res.) alternating years)

The GSD League are in a "catch 22 situation" - if they do not agree = NO team goes to the WUSV Championships.

So the GSD League agree, and many of the GSDL members are angry and frustrated.

BAGSD enjoy this, and hope that GSD League Schutzhund members "transfer to them"

BAGSD have ridiculous qualifying scores for their TEAM Members - this makes things boil.

BAGSD clearly intend this situation to continue.

The WUSV have a policy - "this is a domestic matter" - we will not interfere.

BAGSD sit back and carry on with impunity.

The situation is APPALLING, and it is "caused and fueled" by BAGSD and their apparent lack of "sportsmanship and fairness"

Well yet again, another world championships has gone by where the UK team has been hugely dissapointing once again. This is not personal against anybody. I just wish that each side of the organisation would leave each other alone and instead of being great at typing posts on the internet, maybe we should try and train our dogs to give a respectable performance at a world event. Every single year the UK finishes in a poor position overall, now is this down to the dogs ? I don't think so, it is clearly the handlers who need help. From what I can see we have gained no ground at all over the past 5 years of competition because the scores indicate this year is as bad if not worse than previous years. Come on guys it's about time the UK was not a laughing stock when going out infront of thousands of foreigners  ! Competitiors with the ambition to represent the UK should not be looking to just QUALIFY !

Hi dsv;

As far  as I am aware, non of the GSDL representitives at the FCI post on the internet at all, and I know they have all put a great deal of effort into training for this event. .

I think they did OK; this was the first time there for all three with young dogs. It is not so easy to do well at these events. I hope they had a positive experience and feel motivated to continue and improve. I say well done.

I cannot speak for BAGSD; however, I am confident that things are improving, but with only 300 or so handlers in the country it will always be a bit "up and down".

Huge respect goes out to anybody enters a competition field with their dog. But at the same time can someone with the experience you carry enlighten us on why dogs that score very well in a qualifying event cannot come close to replicating those scores abroad, when other countries like, Belgium, Germany and so on are doing on a regular basis ?

Thanks
