I didn't think you would Ruger,

I'm merely asking a philosophical question to encourage people consider what their saying in this post.

People should tend to their own backyards before critiquing others with their Google search ignorance.

Correct there is no difference it is just how we look at things, and THAT is exactly the way the Chinese look at Dogs the same way as most over this side of the world look at Rats and Mice. So although we do not agree with what they do i for one do understand but it still does not make it right in my up bringing i find it sad But then i have seen things just as bad or worse done to Humans so i put it down to a part of life
Regards Lobsters etc Chef Raymond Blanc put his through a electric Shock it kills them instantly before they are put in the pot i am sure he does that a real good thoughtful Guy and a wonderful Chef

If you track back, you will see that I for one had already said that whilst I still would not like the idea of dogs being eaten, but I could live with it so long as their treatment prior to and during 'slaughter' was humane.

I would hope for humane treatment for any animal, including rats and lobsters too, I would not be at all accepting of my neighbour beating a rat to death with a shovel.

Kim, I think you will see that many posters have direct experience of many countries (including working in China and Korea) with a less than glorious attitude to animal welfare, and as vixen said a while back, some organisations such as Animal Asia are on the ground in the thick of it.

So it isn't just a case of 'google search ignorance', though having said that you can keep abreast of what is happening in China and the rest of the world through many news agencies on google if you have a mind to.

To stay with the OP's original question......no, there is no way I would export a dog to China, and I think the reasons are pretty obvious

Abby Normal - Allow me the courtesy of saying, that I (much like Steve 1) have actual experience in the atrocities of life and the Oxygen Thieves who commit the same.

I do not condone violence of any type, towards people or animals. The inference of this post is that any dog sold to China will be tortured and or eaten alive.......Wow! Pretty harsh inference.

If you noticed in the above sentence, I put people before animals.

Should we not be more concerned with the treatment of women and children in our own respective countries, cities etc.? Which are horribly abused every day?

Okay, lets assume your a humaniac....lets be more concerned about animals then, instead of writing about the cruelty to animals that goes on in China (because other than writing on this forum). You have no intention of going to China and protesting their alleged treatment of animals.

Why not change the cruelty to animals that occurs in your city every day?

Why does everyone want to, or think they can solve the problems or perceived problems that exist in other countries when Real Problems exist in their own neighborhood?

Your either part of the problem, a part of the solution ....or someone who likes to write about what others should do to solve the alleged problem from the safety and comfort of your computer keyboard.

Stay safe, have fun with your dogs. I'm done on this subject

Perhaps courtesy should be extend to allowing that you are not the only one here with life experience.

You have no intention of going to China and protesting their alleged treatment of animals.
You are right, I am not. However I will support those groups who will.

Why not change the cruelty to animals that occurs in your city every day?
I am, but it doesn't blind me to the fact that bad or worse is also happening elsewhere.

The inference of this post was not that this would happen to any dog sent to China but what could happen (and has been proved to happen) in a culture that has no animal welfare laws and a cultural attitude that accepts routine torture of animals.

That's my view, if you're good with it that's your view.
