Ziegenfarm, countries should be armed to protect themselves, but people should not. Arming a whole society is the most dangerous thing that can happen to that society. We see it in our region, if you want to defeat a certain country just smuggle weapons in, the first misunderstanding or contradicting opinions on an issue a battle will start and then things escalate and you have all enemies from everywhere interferring. You don't want that to happen to you, take my word for it, who arms you doesn't wish you well.
That killing of the Ambassador is a illegal intelligence business in a foreign country where a mistake happpened and no one wanted to confess the truth behind it, no one neither Republicans nor Democrats.

Ibrahim, you don't live in my country and that is probably a good thing. I love my country because it is not like other countries where citizens don't have freedom. Many, many people come to this great country because of the freedom it allows it's citizens. You can keep your limited freedom, I prefer the right to bear arms and do. I don't infringe on anyone's rights or freedom, and won't allow anyone to infringe on mine. It is lawlessness and anarchy that undermine freedom, not freedom itself (too much freedom ??? No such thing), but one must have responsibility and respect for the freedom allowed by our country. There have been crazy people who have used a motor vehicle to run down and kill/maim crowds of people. Does that mean that all motor vehicles must be banned and confiscated ?

I saw chosen parts of Obama's speach on our TV, not whole of it, can't say it was his best, maybe he wasn't in his best moments but can't say he was acting, politicians act a lot and confuse you which one is their true selves. Can't say I agree with all what America did to us but personally I like him, no one can blame me for that, any one is better than Bush Teeth Smile

Joanro,

many people come to this great country because of the freedom it allows it's citizens.

To that I agree and I truly wish it remains that way, I do not agree with the rest of what you said. Weapons should not be part of one's personal freedom, owning a weapon means you are ready to use it, use it against who? You are not the law, you can't and should not use a deadly weapon against no one, no one at all, that is not freedom. that is kias (hope spelling is correct).
Only case you have a right to defend yourself is when you, your home or your family is attacked. Weapons are banned, your attackers have no weapons and you have no weapon, this way you have a better chance to remain alive, you and your beloved ones. Police is there to call to come to your rescue. If you have weapon to shoot at your government then that is lawless and a crime, you have a weapon to threaten others with then that is a crime. No weapons, less crime, less killings, less accidents.

The car example is not a valid argument, we can kill with a pencil, pencil is not to be banned but that does not apply to a machine made to kill and used in crimes. I never saw a robbery where pencils were used, I saw many where weapons were used.

Ibrahim, with all due respect, it is not your place to say what we, Americans , should be allowed or not allowed. You don't live here, and you are accustomed to your way of life. I don't and never will tell you how I think your country should be run, or how you should live your life. I appreciate if you have the same respect for me and my country. You don't think the example of the killings by cars is valid? Yes you can kill with a pencil, but how many will you take out compared to driving seventy m/p/h into a crowd of people? You don't want to own a gun, fine. Don't come to the US to live. If someone came here to hurt me or my animals, they would be done with their misdeed long before cops could ever get here. But they would have to get past my 12ga before they could accomplish their criminal acts at my house. I would not rely on cops to protect me out here it the country. In fact, they recommend people having a gun and know how use it. There are a lot of crack heads who will kill anybody at any home for whatever they can find, in order to buy more drugs. There have been people who own stores who saved there own lives, shooting armed robbers with a gun they keep under the counter. Cops would never be able to get to them as fast, they'd already be dead. So, yeah, I'll keep my guns, thank you. And my freedom.

in the fall of 1979, i was 25 yrs old, divorced & raising 2 little boys.  a highschool boy from my community tried to break in to my house with a rifle and a nylon stocking over his head.  i stopped
him with my bare hands.  we fought for the gun. i got injured from the fight, but i didn't get shot---no one did.  after he ran off, i called the police and went to the hospital to get stitched up.  the
only thing i could think about while all this was going on was that i had 3 kids in the house that night---my 2 and a friends daughter.  i knew i HAD to get control of the situation, no other options.
i don't know if he came there to rob me, rape me or kill us.  i will never know because it didn't happen.  he spent time in prison for committing several crimes including drug dealing, robbery &
other felonies.  i promised myself i would never again be a victim.  that's when i bought my first handgun.  i bought it to protect myself & my loved ones.  i now own an ar15 and i have it for the
same reason; for self defense and to protect my friends, family & neighbors.  between my husband and i, we have several guns.  we are not a threat to society.  we will never be a threat to
society.  but i will be damned if i will be slaughtered in my own home without a fight.

Here is what anti-gunners need to read:

A 1993 nationwide survey of 4,977 households found that over the previous five years, at least 3.5% of households had members who had used a gun "for self-protection or for the protection of property at home, work, or elsewhere." Applied to the U.S. population, this amounts to 1,029,615 such incidents per year. This figure excludes all "military service, police work, or work as a security guard."[19]

* A 1994 survey conducted by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that Americans use guns to frighten away intruders who are breaking into their homes about 498,000 times per year.[20]

Ninja, your comment is a good summary of reality.  The major mass media neglects to report these stories of folks using firearms to prevent completion of crimes, assaults and murders because they have a NWO Globalist Agenda to disarm the public.  These self defense occurrences with firearms occur everyday all across America in businesses, homes and on the street.  As long as the public remains armed, the shadow govt cannot create a complete dictatorship based on tyranny like Nazi Germany or Stasi East Germany, Bolshevik or Stalinist Russia, Maoist China, North Korea, etc. But they are now deploying individual and mass mindkontrol to alter public perceptions and to produce mass shootings like at Sandy Hook and Aurora Colorado.

The various mass murders at Aurora theater in Colorado, the Sihk temple in Wisconsin and now Sandy Hook are secret US Intel covert operations (deep black ops). Various sophisticated methods are used involving complete control of the police investigation and media, planted stories and false evidence, body substitution, and MKultra high tech mindkontrol. Now for those folks who say this is whacky or nonsense, open up your minds to learn and see what Jesse Ventura discovered doing research for his latest episode of Conspiracy Theory. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1T0FJliYdI&feature=share&list=PLV9M_ipSHajW0eK9Gc9WOHUfOaAcbXFBb

Here is an article with information from highly connected sources which pretty well summarizes current mindkontrol operations in America:
http://www.veteranstoday.com/2012/06/11/mass-mindkontrol-final-nwo-assault-on-the-american-people-and-their-republic/

Now remember this, these huge USG secrets of the Shadow Govt which has gone over to the "dark side" and lost all moral values for any human life do not need to be covered by national security laws.  When ordinary folks are actually briefed on these matters these things seem so incredulous that they will not fit into their heads.  thus these secrets of horrible crimes are allowed to continue because they are so outrageous and incredulous that the public just cannot allow themselves to believe they occur.
