Back on topic, well the second topic on page two, THE TEST.  Are we done or give it a little longer?

Once again, if you have not read through all the posts.  This thread started with me posting dogs out of my favorites which soon led to more familiar topics. I posted a test on the second page.  Take a look and participate.

Sitasmom, you are my kind of GSD breeder. If I bred that would be my goal too. Back to the future........I love those dogs.

Here is the info about the dogs on page two.

7 and 8 are the same dog.

12 and 13 are the same dog.

Every dog competed in one or more of the following.

All of the dogs are sons and daughters out of Uno vom Stadtfeld.

For those show breeders that took the risk to bring stronger working dogs into their show lines with they are seeing Uno grandchildren like this.

Keep my outspoken opinions quiet for now and see what this stirs up lol.

Good job. Was that UNO dog Jan Kokx dog?

by Blitzen on 04 April 2012 - 12:04

I'd really like to see the dams of these dogs and learn their accomplishments too. Uno didn't do it all by himself.  Clearly there is not much consistency in type exhibited, but working ability is impressive. Also, how many total progeny did this dog produce when bred to SL females?

The grandchildren are both very lovely dogs. However, I do see the beginning of a slight roach and that is evident in several of the adult dogs too. Uno himself shows a roach. Is he 100% WL's?  Otherwise he's a very good looking dog IMO.

Never mind the question about his being 100% WL's. I just looked at his pedigree.

by joanro on 04 April 2012 - 13:04

Never mind, it wasn't. Blitzen, did you see uno's dam? I think that might be where the round top lines and rear angulation might come from?

Who is number 7 and 8?

by Gustav on 04 April 2012 - 18:04

I take my hat off to these breeders that used Uno....because someone is finally getting it that the genetics of the show world needs to change. This is very very good. These dogs all have nice show structure though different types....but if I remeber correctly the breed has always had different types that were excellent. Furthermore, I assure you that by and large the temperament of these progeny will improve. Now if they really want to improve the conformation dogs, they should take these dogs to another nice structured working line dogs and keep the best out of that for the conformation ring....then you will really start diversifying the genetics, and you will see much improvement in drive, and nerve while still having the structure that is in the ring. Hopefully, they don't after one outside breeding go back to the same genetics that is so saturated in the first place....but I suspect they will....sigh!
Anyway, I applaud them for what they have done as far as the conformation ring is concerned.
