Good post, as usual, Gustav. I'd like to add about my dogs where Norbo appears twice and that is that Cordon is three times in six generations. They have civil defense with nerves to handle it. two of the females I kept I am training in herding and they have natural balance with plenty of strength, focus and control of the live stock (goats and sheep). The instructors commented they have not seen GSDs with such natural ability and aptitude for the work.:) they are a big asset at feeding time with our twenty nine goats.

I will say Joan if I looked at a pedigree with Norbo linebred on, I would like to see something like Cordon or similar producing dog, more than once, in there for balance....I like the thinking.

Joan,
I am not directing any of this specifically at you.
Others also said that they line-bred on him.
You are taking this way too personal.
The statements I made were blanket concerning close line-breeding.
Sorry if you feel you fit in to that category and none of it is an insult, but, only my opinion on what I have seen and learned over the years.
And, I have never seen one of your ads, whether you have them, or not.
The only thing that is directed at you and others who have line-bred closely on Norbo is, "What was the goal of the breeding?" So far no one has been forthright with an answer.

As for puppy mills, you and I may have a different definition of a puppy mill.
There are a number so-called knowledgeable breeders that fit in to that category.
Knowing a lot about the breed and bloodlines does not automatically exclude one from being deemed a puppy mill.

Jinopo has contributed a lot more than just knowing a lot about the breed and blood lines. There are high production breeders and there are puppy mills. As for being "forthright" with an answer to your question, you already stated your opinion on the subject, but to tell the truth I thought I'd get some two headed, six legged man stoppers out of the deal. Instead I got some very, very nice dogs that out of twenty seven dogs from three breedings with two bitches, two females came back at one and a half years old because the owners could not deal with the civil aggression. One of those is with LE. The other one I gave to a friend who used to be a k9 handler. Every one is happy and healthy. So, I will say I got what I wanted. And as a bonus got better at detecting bull sh!!!ers.

Jinopo a puppy mill? that's comical. I've tried to buy a puppy from a Kerry breeding/mating and from the two pups that were left I was deemed too lax for them and I was advised to either refer to the Bohemia kennel or wait for a Pard or Zen breedings that would produce pups more suited for my lifestyle. Puppy mills mass produce and are concerned about money solely, they don't care about their dogs, pups and customers which is far from the operation that Jiri and his son have running. I've friends in Spain that have had similar experiences and were lucky enough to get pups from Jinopo. This thread isn't about Jinopo but let's slander good people/breeders. By the way have a look at the pedigrees of the so called sport dogs from Jinopo.
