Dogs do produce probiotics but no where near enough, some probiotic supplements have 1 million CFU whereas others, higher quality have 1 BILLION CFU.........I have seen the results, my opinion is not based on what is written in a book or on a website but from personal experience, I use it daily....it's very important, just as enzymes are important if you are feeding kibble. I already posted some of the benefits of enzymes and probiotics. My main supplements are salmon oil, probiotics, and enzymes but I also add Vitamin C (Do not ever give Ester-C to a puppy, they don't need that kind of calcium, it can cause some severe joint problems, that's one of the reasons I don't recommend grain free kibble for growing German Shepherd puppies.

what results have you seen that improves if you use probiotics?
I have it slightly so that if you give a lot as you yourself produce humans or animals, for instance adrenocortical or thyroid then you know that if it continues then stops the body's own production which means that you can become dependent on and get it supplied. same concern about probiotics if you consistently give it stops the dogs' own production why change

Glistening skin, my dogs live til 14-15, I haven't had a stillborn puppy in 6 years until my girl got sick, cured my dogs allergies, allows your dog to digest more nutrients, protection against diseases, infection, preventative of bloat (especially combined with enzymes which every premium kibble lacks, processed = dead organisms = less digestion of nutrients) it gives your dog the good bacteria needed, especially before during and after antibiotics, antibiotics kill all bacteria, even the good, dogs are dogs too they eat things, more bad bacteria for a dog's body to try and fight, I used to get sick every winter, all winter, take some probiotics kills the infection within hours if caught early.. There is a reason why 1 million cfu's isn't enough.
Deja vu, I just posted somewhere else, guess I have to again, good thing I type fast. My personal dog, love of my life, service dog and personal protection dog went into trouble in labor, a few weeks before I took her in because she stopped eating for a little over a day, that's not like her... I insisted on bloodwork and an ultrasound he said she was just fine, he wouldn't do it....yet again my dumbass listens to a vet, a so called professional. This was one of 2 times I was out of some supplements, they were on back order, finally I got all of the supplements and whelping equipment a few days later, a few days after that...She went into labor, she had her first pup and 3 more, her temp was too high to be having pups, she was ignoring them a bit, just too weak I know my dogs. I got my little doctor kit out (No I am not a vet) checked her temp again, palpated her and then the warning sign..her gums, they were almost white, she had no energy to contract, I drove her to the vet as fast as I could, average cost is around $600 for a C-section, I had around $900 just incase something went wrong, they said she was fine....AGAIN I told them to do blood work, come to find out she was very sick slowly dying, she had a uterus infection, her blood was so bad they were certain she needed a blood transfusion, they told me they wouldn't touch her because it was too risky and I had to take her to a specialty center, $2,500 for the C-section, $200 to walk through the door, on the way there she had another pup, well, more like I put my fingers up there and she is not stupid so she knew to work with me, we got to the "specialists" I told them the other puppy in her canal would die because he had no air, naturally I have no idea what I'm doing and these bitches wouldn't let me save him, when they had time they got him out, about 10 minutes later...it was too late, Lexi laid on the floor for hours while I made phone calls, towels being shoved under her so not to get their floor bloody...I've never felt so hopeless in my life, I could see her looking at me and the other people wondering why no one would help her, PP or not she loves and trusts people unless given a reason not to, shame I couldn't have made her understand the bank was closed, and they are greedy bastards, when I finally found someone to help me out, they told my Mother she had a 10% chance or less of surviving, all I heard them talking about was saving as many pups as they could, but she made it. Do you know WHY she made it? Because of the daily supplements I give all of my dogs gave her body the energy, bacteria and will to fight. They said her gums would be pale for several weeks, said she'd be weak and questioned her blood count, 2 days later her incision was almost fully healed and she was perfectly fine, gums back to normal, cell counts good.....they are vets and they didn't know how she survived or got better so fast....it's called Proper Care and begging God, I highly doubt it was just the care. She had 13 puppies, 2 died and it could have been prevented but 13 is a lot, so is 11 too though, I don't l

Not a fan of big litters. I have 3 females to choose from her litter because although Lexa only just turned 5, I wont breed her again, so I have to pray the perfect puppy is in that whelping box for me, I will need a puppy like her to get me through the day without my best friend...I really love Alexa more then anything, she is the love of my life, even when my clumsy ass dropped my chapstick, she tried to hop up and race me to it so she could hand it to me, she does it out of love not because she wants a treat, ball, tug or sleeve (don't get me wrong she loves aaall of them) but love she is not stupid, she craves to learn, and she knows it hurts me to bend down and grab something or look for something I dropped.
This is pretty much what I said on another post.....the supplements I and many others give are so cheap and proven, why would you not want to give your dog the best to keep them live a long healthy life?
