if someone was wanting to buy an older puppy, why not wait the pup's 6 month and after hips and elbow were prelimed?

Ok gouda as you wish, it is only human to wish to know, you roused my curiosity.

How in the world can you put this cat back into the bag, Gouda? Too late, I should think. You should initiate some serious damage control, right about....now! You should have supported the friend/club member into coming forth with HIS story about HIS dog, if what you are claiming is the truth. Now it is just rumor and speculation and you started it all for spurious reasons.

Someone wanted attention, and now he's getting it.

DFTT.

@DonaldDeluxe - what is DFTT please?

Maybe the pups came from Schtal's GSD. After all, have you seen the state of his rear end in the pictures?

There is always a chance to come up with displaysia in any breeding. Even that of 2 "excellent" rated dogs. Sometimes it's just that particular paring of the bloodlines that turns out bad. It's no reason to throw away a stud dog, unless he is throwing bad hips with everyone he's bred to. In breeding we try to stack the deck towards good health and hips, but it does not always turn out well. If it were that simple, breeding only OFA Excellent rated dogs would eliminate displaysia.
Although let me say this, I have seen/heard of both wl and sl breeders disreguarding hips because of what they think the breeding will produce. Case in point: a wl breeder (no offence to wl as it could have been a sl breeder for different reasons) choose to breed 2 displaystic dogs because of what they saw in the pedigrees that would hypotheticly produce a SUPER gripping working dog. He kept the litter until they were 6 months old and screened them for Displaysia. He put down all the ones that showed signs and kept the ones who's hips looked good. My thoughts ... how terribley cruel!!! Innocent puppies must die because of someone's hyped up ideas for a super working dog! Turns my stomach!! Not only that but, even if those puppies that did not show signs and may even pass hip evaluations, get bred..... what do you think they are going to produce?????!!!!!! This could have just as easliy been a sl breeder breeding for show charateristics.... but the point is.... there ARE poor breeders out there that are only single minded and do not take all aspects of both pedigrees and what is being produced by both, into account. Lesson: Research! With all your heart and make sure the odds are in your favor. That's about all you can do.

Gouda,
Honestly I do not know what you are talking about. I post when I feel I have something to contribute or if I have a question. I posted on this thread because I wanted to know the reason for your posts. I do not know what posting this thread has to do with coming to Shtals defense. I am not interested in gaining points with anyone, but I do like friends..lol. Also, I do try to avoid trouble when I can, but I am not afraid to speak my mind if I need to....

To be honest I have not done much reading on the religious posts lately. I am sorry you got hammered, but posting religious stuff on an internet dog forum is risky business. If you search in my name Ruger1 you will find many times that I have spoke of my faith and beliefs. Yes, I do believe these people need saved, but me cramming Bible verses down there throats is not going to accomplish the task. I respect you and Shtal, but I do not agree with your theology and I have stated that before. I think the best example of what I believe is how I live, speak and love other people. I am not sure what your purpose was to call me out on this thread, but I hope I have answered your questions. Lets take the rest to PM's...

 Gouda,
I did not want to derail the thread in case you had more to say. If you do have more to say, I felt it would be better said in a PM. That's all...: )  Do what you are comfortable with.
