for all those who like to bash every breeder they need to read Jenni's last post.  money is obviously not the main factor.  how can you not respect someone like that?  and there are others on the board who are very similar.  just sit back and read.

Great to hear that Jenni. My girl is 5 and a half and I have only had one litter.

I even turned 15 to 20 people down when I had pups. If you don't know what you're getting, then you don't deserve it. lol

I tried to keep them all,lol
But I will keep a pup from every litter I have, and if I don't want it, I wont do it.

I keep one or two from every litter to see how they mature for a bit. I don't keep them all permanently, but I want to raise them myself for a while to see where I need to go in the future as far as improvements, etc. That's why I laugh when people are so sure that an older dog a breeder has must have something wrong with it. Not at all! When I see what I feel I need to see, I want the dog to go to a permanent home. I can't keep them all. I don't even have kennels. I don't want kennels. I don't want more dogs than I can handle by myself. In fact, I want a lot fewer dogs than I can handle by myself! LOL

That is a good idea keeping a couple, I kept the only girl, I have 3 dogs now and no kennel, pups are born in my lounge room and I sleep on the couch until mum is ready to leave them.
Mum will still let her daughter take food out of her mouth, which suprises me, she wont let anything near her food.
I can't believe or anyone else that know the lines and dogs, don't believe it. Though it might be because she is treated good and not kennelled, not handed around and didn't have to feel torn between me and her pups.
With all the other pup, I talk to the owners often to see how they are turning out and get regular updates. And if I need to use any of them, they are all there for me to use. Just had someone contact me about on of the boys and will put them in contact with the owner.
I am heading off today for over a month, going on a holiday, help friends holiday and plan on popping in to see my boys grown up and see how they are going.
It is so very important to me to place these dogs in the best homes and if I have a bad feeling of any level, they don't get a pup. I am happy to give mains papers and them breed them, but I want it done with love and not greed. I will talk them through any problems they are having and explain everything that I know, so they don't have to waste any time like I did until I found out everything. If I didn't, I would sleep soundly at nights, I would lay there wondering stressing for them. But I want people to have what I have and share the joy. This is what I live for :)
I could even leave my house open when I left for the month and no one would even try to steal anything, they know she lives here, lol It is enough to stop anyone thinking of doing anything to my property. The local bad guys know her, she has help catch a few thieves on our walks and no training she was bred to do it and it comes through her genetics. And she passes it onto her pups as long as I pick the male with good lines, no line breeding and great hips, I know what comes from her will be all the same. It isn't always that a  dog can pass themselves on and she does.
I would hate myself forever if I bred a litter of bad bodies and health. The stress I put myself through looking for male makes me sick, because you can only take their word on scores and health from someone who might not want you to succeed, so the work I put into it will take me a year or more, for one male. But if I alway get what I have done in the past, then it will all be worht it.
