The youtube footage of Assan is good! I know both handler and helper both very good guys.
The Handler was National Champion before and very experienced.....should be a very good competiton since the handlers for all 3 GSD have had numerous max scores from there dogs ....so it would be who can do it on the day !!

Just been told that I need to work a few more days than expected !! Aghhhhhh that means I would miss the Nationals ! Gutted..........

Judron55 : I hear another litter mate of yours is coming over to the states .... I think a lot more people / kennels would be using Caro after the Nationals

I think when you have a GSD that has his Kkl1 , Uv, KNPV PH1 & PH2 and reach the Nationals you know it has ticked all the boxes ref being a suitable stud. I spoke to Rick and he is very impressed with what he has produced so far....

I am not sure if its the raw diet from weaning, but the litter I bred with Caro / Bartje some are very big ! 65cm and 43kg at 9 mths !! (also very lean).

Hi Guys,
That dog Assan looks teriffic!! Can you please tell me why did the criminal/helper keep pulling at the short lead attached to him? Also what did the crim/helper pass to the handler? Obviously I dont know about this discipline, but would be interested to find out more.

Mark, I know you are a busy guy, you sometime back posted on another forum of a possibility of you bringing this KNPV to the UK, any update on that?

Super Para (2 or 3)?

Because it was a training session I would assume the helper had the remote (electric). Since the handler would be slightly out of sight, if the dog bite the helper the helper would be able to correct the dog at the precise moment. This sort of trial is common where they go through the entire routine but small corrections are made, which obviously you cant do on the day of the test.

Same sort of reasons ref the short lead....The Helper encouraged the dog to drive forward, improve the grip and bite down hard encouraging to fight more. You notice the helper relaxing his leg slightly, pulling the lead and moving forward to improve that fight/bite of the dog.

You are right, I spent 9mths a year working abroad so very busy, but I know people like Frank Stommels with Gandalf, Rick with Caro, Tom with Edo and a few others are still interested in coming over for a seminar, hopefully after the Nationals. It been a combination of either me working away or they have an important trial to compete in, but hopefully this could be arranged soon.

It would be very hard to arrange a club, we would need a few people intersted in the same area : someone who is willing to be a licenced helper, regualr visits to Holland and regular seminars from the experts etc.
If this could be done in 2-3 areas around the UK, and more people are willing to make a huge effort to promote the sport, it could grow.....but I cant see this happen to be honest with you.

I am sure the local Police dog sections could utilise such clubs in their area? Retreiving articles from the water, article search in the woods, bike attack..etc
So it could be a combination of the KNPV sport and Police CT in a club environment.....? All wishful thinking but you never know !

Would be good and I am still willing to keep trying....

Mark, Thanks for your response, much appreciated. Only ever one Battalion - gungy 3 lol. I fully agree it would be very very difficult for it to take off here in the UK, I an sure though if you manage to get some form of seminar sorted it would be well attended, fingers x'd.

Cool, does this mean the mals and mixes in KNPV are losing ground to the GSDs, it´s often the opposite in various dogsports nowadays it seems;)
How many GSDs are doing KNPV compared to mals/mixes in holland, is it only a few or more than that?
