Changer, if you'd read the OP, you'd see that positive only WAS the premise for the thread, hence the responses.

Pack, make sure you only use cookies- the liver treats will make your pockets all stinky and sticky and if you use hotdogs, you'll have every dog in the neighborhood after you and it could get very dangerous if you run out and can't bribe them to stop attacking you. I'm shuddering just thinking about it. LOL

Kelly, amen. But hey, aren't the "now, now, Snookums" people the ones who pay your bills?! ;-)

Quote: now wondering like a few others no dout, will the sausage work in the bite work, or will genetics beat the sausage

What I have sorta maybe kinda figured out is that if the dog will do the OB in the bitework and is ok with a snausage, then do I really want to have this kind of dog ? Promote this kind of dog ??

I have seen some fairly average dogs blow off the "positive" in the bitework.

Hopefully the OP, who I have not seen reply to anything can get a firm grip on his/her neck so that the removal of the head from the ass will be less painful.

The basic premise that they are promoting is that if you have a pinch on your dog or any other device, you are automatically abusing your dog.

I personally would love to smack these peoples judgmental heads with a chair. It is a huge insult and not a question at all. They are never seeking any sort of answer, or reason. It is usually one post designed to generate responses that they can use at their PETA meetings.

 Mollyandjack, LOL!

Amen, Jeff. They never do want a real answer; it's either innocent ignorance, or like you said, AR mentality.

They are all tools. Used properly, you are on your way to a trained dog. Like all tools they can be abused and cause harm.  This is animal husbandry not a child daycare center.  Lets not be so antropomorphic and hyper sensitive.

Im not even going to touch the sausage with a ten ft pole.

How about a scenario where an elderly lady is about to step out into oncoming traffic and someone grabs her by the arm and jerks her back saving her life? Was it morally and ethically wrong to jerk her by the arm instead of luring her back into a safe position with a bingo ticket?

The OP in this respect is greener than Grass Certainly does not have a clue as to what he or she is talking about.
