I did I took a nap. Her temp is now back up to 100.1 but she's pantine, not heavily or anything more mildly but it says it's 86 degrees outside. Would that have any thing to do with that? I took her out to go potty and everything

She tried to hide in the yard and then decided to play tug a war with my other dog. She's confusing me. Lol

If shes prego, my guess would be tomorrow. I would consider taking her to the vet for an xray to determine if she is indeed pregnant. Can you feel or see puppies moving around?

by spidercrys on 25 June 2014 - 17:06

It feels like puppies.i mean when she lays down I can feel kinda like soccer balls. I just took her temp at 10:05am so about 5 minutes ago and her temp was 99.8

But you should be able to see and feel them moving...

My advice (take it with a grain of salt, as I have only had 1 litter):  Not everyone agrees.... up to you.

Buy a cheap baby monitor - thrift store/goodwill.    Put it in the whelping room and go about your life.  Lots of temp taking and fretting will only make the bitch nervous.   If no activity by Friday, follow up with your vet for a check up.

At this point, if possible, free feed so that she can eat if she wants.  At this point, get her to eat anything, even if it is junk crap dog food.  By this point in Rose's pregnancy, all she would eat is Kibbles n Bits.  I know, the worse of the worse, but I knew it was not a long term thing and I was more concerned with making sure she had a calorie intake.

Try to relax.  Let you and the bitch go about life.  She will whelp when it is time and no amount of fretting will bring them sooner or later.  I know there are worse case scenarios, but those are not common.

@ melba during certain times of day it does look as if the puppies r moving. It moves her fur with it.

@ fawn dallas u are right. I'm just worried she'll have them when I'm not home but I think if I stop doing what I'm doing and taking her temp a lot she'll have them. The vet says to wait until Tuesday before taking her in. He says sometimes they can whelp a week late. I just hope she can have them without having to have assistance

Spider- don't you know, a watched pot don't boil, lol

And, nature has a funny way of being rather effective...just relax, if there, they will come, most of the time without issue.

I think she's finally in labor. She jumped on my couch and it got very wet and when I wiped it with a paper towel it was cold and like water not warm or yellow like pee and when I wiped her vulva with a paper towel it was like a reddish brown color like blood but not a whole lot of blood. Does this sound like she could be in labor?
