EuroShepherd, I've had 2 GSD's that stuffed multiple toys and balls into their mouths. The other 2 never tried it. The record here for tennis balls is 3;  he tried to pick up the 4th, couldn't do it.

Hey Deb,
Brooke was always throwing the ball or whatever at you if you said it wasn't close enough, or you ignored her and didn't pick it up to throw...
Careful, Ziggy II may catch on....Belle's sister Brieta, carries 3 balls in her mouth!!!! Totally ball crazy fool!!!!
Glad to hear Echo is doing so well. Give her a hug, from the Trollope menagerie!!!

My sister has a Miniature Schnauzer that knows how to pop a ball out of his mouth at the person he wants to play fetch with.  It almost looks like he is throwing it and he has remarkably good aim.

My pup Astro, who belongs to my daughter & my grand kids will throw stuff. He is contained in the kitchen with s baby gate when he gets too rambunctious, or if they have company he doesn't get along with. He will throw his water & dinner dishes over the gate, which is only 3 feet tall, he could easily jump over it if he wanted to! If they continue to ignore him he'll play ball with himself, throwing the ball against the kitchen wall or refrigerator, then chasing it, & doing it over & over, until he gets scolded, or someone caves & let's him out. I didn't believe it, but Jen had me over one day & I saw it for myself! jackie harris

Too funny!!!

My pup wn't really throw, but she'll kind of toss her toys into my lap from right in front of me sometimes. lol  She's not too subtle when she thinks I should play with her :D

These stories are great! Love that we have such clever dogs. Steph, believe it or not, Ziggy has little interest in balls. He will grab hold of the string of the gappay ball only if Echo has the ball in her mouth. They walk around like that playing tug with each other but if she lets go, he will too or he will lay down and chew on the end of the string. He's rather fond of the kong but that's probably because I put peanut butter in it. Sometimes he will run around with it in his mouth but he's more interested in the braided felt rope for a play toy. He's going thru a fear stage right now. Seeing me with a towel on my head got his attention. The hair dryer is a beast. Shaking out a plastic trash bag freaked him out. The funniest things are getting him upset but we are working at letting him know all is ok. He's still Paul's lap dog. Deb

He...he... (I know it's funny at the time)......Windwalker.....I can immagine leaning to get another bite of supper only to have a slobbery ball land in the middle of it.

If I'm on the computer when Cisco wants to play he starts throwing his toys at me.......sometimes I get a slobbery ball in my lap.......other times I get my coffee knocked over........If I ignore him he steals my kitchen towels because he know's I'll chase him down for them........After putting all toys and towels out of his reach, I know I have about 10 minutes left to work on the computer before he starts "talking" to me.....Teeth Smile

We have a pull out keyboard on our computer desk and Echo will slam it shut if she feels like I've been on it long enough. It's the only time she really asserts herself for attention. Any other time she will toss a toy in my lap and if I fail to toss it for her she will bark, sometimes very loudly. Other times and I'm not sure why but she will do this high pitched yip to get my attention. It's almost a chirp, in fact I'll call it a chirp. Funniest little sound. I often hear it when she is ready to come in from outside or needs a break from Ziggy. Thank goodness she knows to leave us alone when we are eating. Ziggy has yet to figure that out. He thinks it's ok to either place his front feet on the table or if I'm sitting on the couch he will leap up next to me and inspect my dish. Still working on teaching him not to counter surf. I have a feeling if left unsupervised, he would be pulling stuff off the counter or into the trash cans. This is new territory for us as our other two girls never did either. I have noticed his fondness of mouthing the throw pillows and cushions & have nightmares of him pulling the stuffing out of my sofa.

Cirberus (one of my pups) is sooo jealous of my phone.  Does not matter if I am talking, texting, or net surfing.  As soon as she sees me pick up the phone, her nose is right there on it.  If that does not work, she start trying to crawl into my lap.  If all else fails, reaching to destroy something she knows she is to leave alone works every time.

Oh to have a bunch of smart a!# dogs.  As if a teenage son was not enough.

Echo ate my last phone. Ok, not exactly ate it as in swallowed it but she chewed it up beyong repair and this was as an adult...not a puppy going thru the chew everything stage. I took a couple of pix of her with it because she would cock her head each time it made the shutter sound. My bad, I left it on a TV tray when I went to the bathroom. When I came back she was busily chomping away on it. She dropped it like a hot potato when she saw me coming but it was too late. Late night trip to radio shack for a newer phone which I got for free with a new contract so no big deal but I really liked that phone. Luckily the kid working there was able to transfer the screensaver from my old phone to my new phone...it's a head shot of our old girl and I was devestated at the thought of not having her sweet face looking at me everytime I use my phone. Thank goodness I don't have to deal with human teenagers too!
