I got more encouraging news and information.
1. Since 1:30 central time, there has been over 6 calls to the shelter for this dog.
2. Not on the EU list yet
3. They will take over the phone adoptions - Contact Susan Waits susan.waits@arlingtontx.gov
4. The person I talked to said that based on the response, this dog will go fast.
5. No good number to call and talk to someone directly. Call 817-459-5898 and leave message to wait for return call.
6. (sneeky phone number 817-575-8128. This is the number of the person that called me back and was very nice. Not sure if anyone answers if you call it though)

Went to fill out paperwork- to go to a rescue need a 501c3. Rescue I am working with is 501c3 pending. Anyone have a contact with a 501c3 already in place if they wont take pending?

Isn't it just ridicules what you have to go through to try to save a life! Unbelievable actually. It almost seems they would just assume put the animal down. And WHERE do they find some of the people that work there?

North Texas GSD Rescue already nixed plling him. They said he was going to be euthanized today at 1:30. He wasnt. I also need someone to foster, before he can be pulled- he has to have somewhere to go to wait for transport. What a mess :( The govt is so backed up with issuing 501c3s because of all the cutbacks, you would think a pending would be acceptable, to save lives...

Marjorie, can you get me a time frame for holding until transport to Philly? Are we looking at a few days, a couple of weeks, or a couple of months?
I can't do anything until Saturday. If Krazy (love the name) can have someone get him before then, great. I will watch.

transports usually can be done within 2-3 weeks if everyone pulls together. Definitely not months! Would still need a 501c3 to pull, though.. I am trying to work on that... I will try to contact Susan, again, tomorrow, to see how he does on his eval. Problem with transport is that it cannot be arranged until the dog is somewhere safe. Need a starting point to even put together a transport. I know a gal whose husband flies for pilots n paws, and will contact her if he can be gotten to safety. In fact, I think I will give her a call, anyway, just in case they know a 501c3 in the area who could pull.

501c3? Can't the person in Philly do the adoption over the phone and then have someone locally to pick the dog up (either me or Krazy)?
I have never of having to have a 501c3 just to adopt a dog. Did I miss something here?

I am going to write susan and get all the info. Sounds confusing to me, too. She told me to fill out the paperwork and when I went to do so, thats when it said a 501c3 and a texas drivers license was needed???

Have to find out about out of state adoptions- many shelters will not do that, so I will check and see if that is feasible.
