I'd like to know if there are studies that prove that having more than 4 litters is detrimental to the female's health. Never heard a vet mention this before.
It seems like a change made "for appearances"--it's not going to make any puppies any healthier.
A good breeder factors in the health of the female before EVERY breeding--whether the first or the fourth--as well as factoring in the health of the puppies that have already been produced and whether the mom is producing sound, healthy, sane puppies.

So instead of the already over dogged person having 10 bitches....they will get 20 so they can keep the numbers up and the sales going. This is not going to slow down the reproduction of dogs....it is only going to make "bitches useless in the eyes of the money grubbers earlier" And they will just keep more females and breed more dogs. And rid them selves of the already used up bitches. If my bitch can only have 4 litters and I want eight...Get anaother Bitch. I think it is a stupid sensless rule that in the long run will bite the KC in the ASS. I have not had a litter in four years. Tired of the Public and the worry. That being said.....This is America...or it use to be any way. One more Freedom Gone. Ya know the Bitch is not the only reason puppies are made. Let set a Limit on how many bitches a Male can breed in his life time....and watch people squabble!!!!!
