bc, none of my sable dogs have a dot on their tongue. My B&T does though, and one of her daughters does as well as one of her black g-daughers. It has
to do with pigment and I believe is a beauty mark of sorts.
Ibrahim, that black puppy looks scrumptions he he he

More times than not, a GSD will have a black mark on its tongue;
these are SO common. Even dogs you think don't have one, you
can find some small dark mark hidden right up the back of the
tongue, often as not. Nothing to do with coat colour.

Jutta, from that picture, is the sort of Grey Sable more common in
Showline dogs in the UK (& maybe both sides of the Pond) - mid-silvery
grey body colour, pale grey to fawn undercoat, gold or tan shading on
legs and more/darker gold or tan on head, esp. ears. Its a type of Sable
colouration I am very used to seeing, in England.
Unfortunately I don't know anyone with a dog of the colour at the
moment which will be bred from.
But it may help you to look more at SL or direct Euro imports than
at American WL, if you want to find the colour. However, you do
need to remember: you would be buying a whole dog; 'no good
dog is a bad colour', but some dogs have nice colours but nothing
else going for them (health factors, working ability, correct conformation,
and so on) so you shouldn't buy a pup for its potential colour above all
else. Do your research. Good luck with your quest.
