I may resort to clipping them to the outside of the kennel from now on. The only reason they are even going in the kennel right now is because it's hunting season and we live on a farm where there are lots of hunters on our surrounding properties.

I am very glad things turned out all right for your dogs...
Same thing happened to my GSD and my Great Dane,,It was horrifying,,
My Great Dane's jaws were stuck in my GSD's collar; choking her .....
It was a terrifying experience that resulted in my GSD loosing conscienceness and needing mouth to mouth resuscitation ...
My husband saved her life and both recover without any issues...
Both lived to the ripe old ages of 12 and 14 years old, but I nearly lost them both ...
Snap free collars are the only option for multiple dogs,,

Okay, I always left the collars on the dogs. I will be re-thinking that now !
Thank goodness the OP caught the situation with the male and got the vet to him.

This is one of my worst nightmares. I'm so sorry it happened to you but I bet you will never leave a collar on unattended again, especially when the dogs are playing. A friend of mine's dog got her teeth stuck in a collar years ago and broke a few teeth because of it. There are horror stories of folks who left their dogs in the kennel with their collars on and the dog got caught on something and choked to death. Gives me heart palpitations just typing it!!! Keep a close eye on your pups (especially that bloody eye, yikes) and I'll be sending extra healing and speedy jingles your way.

We have some improvement... second day of Neo/Poly/Dex drops. Can see the white coming back and the areas that were really blood red are turning to pink! YEAH!

I think Ruger1 was just saying a collar that could easily be "un-clipped".. and not a buckle collar. (But don't let me put words in your mouth ruger
)
