My Jack Russell, a rather aloof little guy, became very protective of me while I was pregnant; to the point of standing guard over me while I slept. Literally. He'd stand like a terrier-bridge over me, and if something moved outside that he didn't like, he'd growl. He's -never- like that otherwise.
