OK the firs picture is of your pup's sire, The second is the full littermate (sister) Alenka.

She looks like my GSD female I lost in 2001.  Her name was Midge.  She was from a Northern Ky kennel and a well known German pedigree.  I loved her so much.  It almost killed me to lose her.  She got the cancer of stomach and was showing blood.  I tried everything but could not save her.  Just watch the protein and you will be fine.  The complications I listed are minor in the big picture.  Also, if you have her spaded she will gain more weight.  I would ger her skinny soon and then you can determine what is next.

Beautiful markings indeed.

GSD Justice: Does she have too much weight on her? Why do I want her to be skinny?

She looks fine. Make sure she is not overweight later. Right now, she is just fine. If you'r gonna spay he, please do me a favor and wait till she is a year old (at least). Thank you.

skinny  is good for hips and elbows, its a quality of life issue

seeing one or two ribs is quite usual.

they tend to live longer and healthier - just like humans

I have no intentions of spaying her. I don't plan on making that decison until she is at least 2 or 3 years old. We'll see how far along she is with her training at that point and go from there.

And yeah, I'm not going to have any fat dogs in my house, and I thought she looked fine. All of my dogs (mutts included) are kept at a healthy, fit weight at all times.

Franquie, the line of your pup has substantial bone, you can expect her to be more on the heavy site. Even tho she appears to have some extra on the ribs on the fotos, I would not judge her untill one actual has its hand on the dog, nor would I take anything off. Foodwise you doing fine, and instaett of cutting down on protein to slow her growth, I personally would cut back a bit on the dry food and add raw beef/chicken as well as dried powdered milk. This will provide easy digestible protein, calcium and vitamin D to provide that bone with all the nutrients it needs. Commercial pyppy food is often not just high in protein, but also high on carbs from grains, and this will do "you" in. It is not the high protein, but the starch high in calories that will cause fast growth, associated with Pano. I do belief that there is also a genetic link to pano.

Btw, your pup looks pretty and energetic, coat looks great. Structure is right now a little off, normal at this age and will balance later! With this pedigree behind her you should have no problems getting her well trained. Good luck!

She's fine...just going to be a big girl.  I have one of those too.  We need to weigh ours this week to find out just how much she weighs but I'm thinking at 9mo she has topped 70.  She was standing next to a 1yr old male last night and she made him look small although I believe he was a little taller but not by much.  My 9mo old girl has more bone and better muscle tone than the male which makes her look fat but actually she is trim.  Her build is very similar to your girl's.  We were taking a photo of her every week until her 6mo b-day.  There is a week that she went from puppy to big girl so fast that when we show the photos to people they think we are making it up.  I'll have to check but I want to say it was close to the 5mo mark.  So relax, she'll slow down but yes, she is a big girl.  Just look at those ears and realize she has yet to grow into them!  Lovely girl.  I really like her expression.  Enjoy her!
