Also too much calcium can form Stones in kidney or in the gall bladder called calcified stones. Check how much calcium is in the 2 vitamins alone...adding a tab of calcium is not needed. I have given one vit tab and one is all she probably needs.. What amt of calcium is in the vit...???
It has to go somewhere and the body holds on to it and it goes to the breast milk or the kidneys or the gall bladder.
Powdermilk is fabulous and easy for pups and mom
OR goats milk later when pups start to eat mush.
Mom will finish it up after the pups eat...Feed pups by themselves or Mom will eat it and they will not get any...

While painful, expressing the milk is helpful in the longrun.

To me, it sounds like possibly mastitis. I have never run into that problem so I'm not sure of how you may fix this. Personally, I would take my bitch to a very good repro vet. Also, make sure that you trim the puppies nails so they do not scratch, I have seen friend's bitches refuse to nurse due to long and very sharp puppy nails! Problem was resolved after the nails were trimmed.
