Will be placing a call to Rick this morning, during normal business hours, so as not to seem suspicious. I'll play the dumb ba$tard like a fiddle. This kind of thing burns me up, and had someone in a foreign country used one of my deceased babies picture, I would hope for nothing less from someone else. I don't know Dogshome9, but I've done this before for a breeder who's pictures were stolen. I recognized the picture from her website and called the breeder about it. She actually DID sue, and won! Cheaters never prosper

If it ever happens to you and the culprit is in the UK, I will step in for you willingly, or anyone else it happens to. Burns me up too.

I had that happen with someone in the UK... contacted them and played the interested buyer for several communications requesting information about bloodlines, health testing, thoughts on individual pups, questions on parents and asking for current pictures which were then of puppies from showlines and not the working line pictures of mine, then bammm, nailed them, threated to sue, contacted the website (a UK Pets For Sale site) and demanded they remove post and block poster, showing proof of ownership of the pictures used.  Most will back down since they know that they stole the pictures and have no right to be using them.
Also had this happen in the US, but a little different situation.   Built and maintained a website address, and after dissolving a partnership, including telling them they were not allowed to use any of my photo's, I removed all of my intellectual property, including all my photo's from the website.  When the other party hired some one else to rebuild her website, they used my photo's.  I immediately contacted the website admin and demanded that my photo's be taken down.  The response that I got back was that the photo's belonged to the owner of the website, were not copyrighted, and she had taken them off of the former website (without my permission) and that was basically tough.  I again responded that they were my intellectual property and as such, they did not have permission to use them.  I threatened further action if they were not removed.  I then proceeded to contact the web hosting company, filing a complaint with them with a special form including all information verifying my claim.  Shortly, all my photo's were removed from the website.

I actually found my dog posted here on pedigreedatabase for sale.......after I'd owned him for 6 months!!!!

The ad was posted the day before I found it.  I contacted pedigreedatabase and called the poster.  The ad was removed within a day - I assume by pedigreedatabase, since the jerk who posted him for sale never responded to my (very angry) message.

Some people a true jerks.

Oh, you guys are gonna LOVE this!

He's asking a $450 rehoming fee for her, and he's claiming that DOGSHOME9's deceased dog is the dog he's selling's "sister". That he PURCHASED BOTH girls from Milan, MI and already "sold" Dogshome9's deceased dog.

When I asked him if they were the same dog, he said that the headshot was the dog he "still had available" and the picture we know FOR SURE that he stole, he already sold her.

Unbelieveable. When I asked him why he was "selling" the dogs he "owned" he told me they were too much for him, and that the dog in the picture (he was refering to Dogshome9's picture) as I could see, was destroying his lawn because of her excessive fence running.

I'm plotting my next "move" and debating if I will call him back and pretend to be interested, or call him up, telling him I know he STOLE that picture and reem his ass, or if someone has a better plan, let me know.

I would ask him if you could come look at the dog and see what he say's cuz I did a quick Image search on the Photo of the dog he claims he still has and found the orginal website it was posted on at http://freedominourtime.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html  hmmm what a POS.  I wonder what he will say if you want to have a look??   I think we should all go flag the ad it is most likely some type of scam!!

PS  scroll to the bottom of that page from the link to see the Photo of Cheif from 2007!

I called him back, told him I wanted to come look at the dog in person before I paid any money to him. I told him I wasn't willing to send any money before seeing the dog because you never know what kind of scammers there are. His response? "Oh I know, it's amazing what people will do for money these days!"

Seriously, no hesitation at all, spewed it out as if he were telling his wife he was going shopping for groceries.

When I asked what time I could come out to view the dog, he told me someone else was looking at her, and if she was still available, he'd let me know.

So, what'd I do? I had my husband call (completely different area code than mine) and the guy told him it was the Red and Black one (refering to Dogshome9's deceased dog) that was still available and that the black and tan dog (the dog known as "chief" stolen from another site, thanks to Mel for finding the link!) was her brother and he was sold. What the hell?

When my husband asked why he had brother and sister, unaltered (the guy mentioned this to my husband as a selling point) the seller/Rick claimed that it was because they were rescued from an ex-girlfriend's house when they were 4 weeks old.

What the freakin' hell, I swear this guy has a book of excuses and stories for each person who calls to ask about them...Must be tiring to spend so much of one's time manifesting such bullshit and lies to scam someone out of a measly $450.

When my husband asked to come look at the female (refering to Dogshome9's photo) "Rick" told my husband that he would need the money first because "Anyone could come get her at anytime and he would 'hold' her for my husband".

What a load of utter bull$hit...Too bad he doesn't put so much time and effort into an ACTUAL job, where he could make an HONEST day's living.
