That is why I sent it to an EPI list who are really working for you.  Geeez, EPI dogs are easy to take of.  Just get into the routine.  I have a basket with the measuring spoon, Viokase or another product, Tylan powder, and dog food.   I use both canned and kibble.  Put bit of water into kibble and mix food and wait 20 min and give to dog.  Dog may need a B-12 shot once a month.  Pills do not work.  Some dogs need more care, others not so much.  REALLY easy to do.  Have done it for 14 years.  No one even knows she has a problem.

My dog is beautiful just as this dog is.  I sent my dog's blood into a test to try to find the gene that causes the problem.  Dr is in Clemenson, SC at the University there.  Dogs can have far far worse things.  She is drop dead beautiful, but cannot have room for another dog.  Sorry.

Sorry but I dont agree  with " I will say the dogs from our breeder are healthy, excellent, balanced, high drive, working-line GSD's.
I would expect nothing less..." Obviously not since this dog was produced. I'm sure there have been other pups but either no one else came forward or you just dont know about it. Ive had my share of EPI dogs and although it may be easy for most to care for, I do not think that anyone considering an EPI dog should take this lightly. They need to do their homework before jumping in and caring for a dog with this condition.

Ive been able to track some of the EPI dogs I had to the sire bred to several different bitches same outcome for the pups. I actually find this  sad that people think this condition is no big deal... I hope these folks got their money back!

All good dogs deserve second chances, don't they? Good of you to help find her a home, Supertanker. Another of those situations when I wish I had the room for another dog. I'd take her in a  heartbeat.

Thanks everyone for your help.

Stephanie sent me an email this evening with the following:

"she has been spayed, has current shots and heartworm meds, etc., and at last visit with the vet, vet was pleased with her progress and we can provide records, etc.  She is a sweet dog, and we would be pleased to know she could go to a good home. "

I too would take Greta in a heartbeat, but having 2, dog sport active, high drive dogs is about all I can handle.

THANKS to everyone who helped!!!

I think someone from the EPI group is adopting her.
The family who has the dog is meeting another family half way between Cincy and Pittsburg today.
The adopting family has a dog with EPI and had been looking for another dog.
If everything works out Greta will have a new home by the end of the day.

Again, thanks to all the kind souls who helped!!!

Peace and blessing!

Sorry, I don't know which EPI group.
The new owners have a GSD Husky mix with EPI.
Don't know it that helps.
