There's nothing on the mother's side, and really not much on the father's. Where are the hip and elbow scores? Are there any titles besides CGC?

Did you fill all the information in yourself, as i notice that  Jiggs Snags The Cathedrals is 1977 and his sire Han's David Von Simon is 1994 and that his grand sire V Don vom Rolandsteich is 1979, think you best go through the pedigree and check this information is right, then ask for the information you require .

Pedigree/Genetics only suggest what the dog SHOULD be. Conformation, preformance, temperament, and health show what the dog HIMSELF really is.

First, anyone can overpay for a puppy. I know of too many people who pay several thousand dollars for an animal I wouldn't see as being worth more than $600. Unfortunately, there is no Blue Book for GSDs.

Second, You need to consider the motherline as well as what the stud brings to the mix. And looking at several generations, seeing the history of what these dogs bring when it comes to temperament, structure, and working drives is important.

Third, you need to consider the specific dog in question because the best breedings can produce both champions and duds.

Even when your dog is a pup, and yours is old enough that you should already have an idea of the strength of his play/prey drive, and his desire to interact with you and please you. These are qualities you can begin to foster when a dog is much younger than 8 months.

THe best thing for you to do is have a trainer who works in your favored discipline evaluate your dog. He may not be up to professional sport but you can still have some fun with him.

BUT you still have to do the basics first, such as FOCUS.

In the end it does not matter if someone thinks your dopgs are "nice" because that is simply a cursory examination. My look at what is there of a pedigree seems to show a history that is a bit lacking in working history even if there might have been some successful show dogs in it. I wouldn't just consider whether the dogs in a pedigree went VA or not but I would also read reviews from different sources that consider how a dog performed during a working trial as your interest seems to be schutzhund. There are dogs that are highly praised for their working abilities though they may not have a certain "look" or lineage to make them as successful in a show ring. Many over-angulated, cow-hocked dogs are rating too high for reasons other than simply their conformation, and that is something that the WL enthusiats have plenty to say about. And even the WL dogs bring their own issues to the breed when it comes to problems with temperament and structure.

You can never know too much and you can't let yourself buy into an ideology to the point that you can't be objective even about your favorite dogs or so sensitive that you can't handle other people's opinions especially when you ask for them.

If you look back further on sire side of pedigree past the 4th generation, that is where the titled dogs are that she sees. Can't tell anything about dam's part tho.
