lol Bob, that sounds like something I'd do in that situation.

I know too many good responsible hunters to let some idiot,s get away with that.

Wouldn't call them real hunters, more like city slicker pieces of crap!

Would have loved to been there Bob! We each have our ways of handling a situation but what some are forgetting is you have to be preventive/proactive NOT reactive. Reactive is too late. You can't always say the other person should have done this or that. Times have changed and I'm not even sure if it's about respect.

I live on a farm with multiple hunters using the surrounding fields/farms for hunting. deer season recently, bow season still in effect and goose season starting Saturday. My yard isn't fenced and the back runs into the forest. My service dog and my male I can trust 110%, the Czech female alot better than when she was a pup but not 100% will go on a leash from door to yard to kennel unless I am right there. The 16 month old stays close. I talked to the hunters, (pretty much the same people) when I first moved in and each season (one, to know who they are, their faces, their vehicles and plates) just to make them aware there are four dogs BUT every action, every situation or possible situation rests on me and what I do and don't do.

If my dogs where ever shot like that there would be "stray" rounds in that direction going!  No tolerance for souless pieces of crap!

A couple years ago some dirt bag shot a neighbors GSD right inside it's kennel from the woods next door. Definately not accidental. The first shot, maybe; the second......? Give me a break. There are a lot of wackos out there that'll shoot at anything, when I was a teenager my neighbors horses were clipped more than once. And I hate to find deer carcasses in the woods, just the head & 1 hind leg sawed off. Totally wasteful, & illegal. **sigh** jackie harris

This topic screams hillbilly. I'm goin get me some deer! Most hunters I know have the IQ of a grape.  The related news article, just further proves this
