I would also be willing to help this dog.  I have several people on an adoption list who are waiting to open their home and heart for such a dog.

I assist many working dogs who are retired, washed out or who find themselves without a home.

Koach,

 A day late and a dollar short, I just sold a 16 month old GSD matching what you want with a foundation in ring.

 Pointless to post, but he's going for an evaluation at a security company on Monday. If they don't take him I will shoot you a PM.

by Koach on 12 November 2010 - 20:11

 Felloffher,
Thanks for the offer but I want a pup.

Vickie, LadyFrost, Ruger1;
No way am I sending this dog to someone else. I am going to do what the breeder should have done when the pups were ready to go. It should have been culled. I've raised and trained over 50 dogs in various dog sports and work. I help out at a local SAR's group and I walk dogs at a SPCA shelter with a non-euthanasia policy. So when the pup arrived I thought I'd give it a shot at seeing what I could do with this poor temperament. Lots of socialization and once again I get a repeat lesson in how you cannot compensate for extreme poor genetics.

FlashBang:
Yes, as a true GSD should be. I really don’t see an improvement in GSD breed since we went from "working dogs" to "sport dogs". I dream of another good working dog.

Gustave;
If you know of kennels with the dogs I'm looking for you can email me at: nicodesb@gmail.com. Would appreciate. There are lots of people claiming they breed true DDR/Czech dogs but can you believe all the hype?

Thanks everyone.

Loyal heart german shepherd  in Hooks, TX has a nice litter on the ground that will not be too high drive.
loyalheartgsd.com  I bought my dog from them a year ago.  You will find that Tammie will be very upfront with you.  Her temperment test was right on for my boy.

Koach don't take it personal but Hitler thought the same thing about Jews...and their "pedigree" and "genetics" did not fit into his top pedigree of what a human being should be.... I know with my statement I am not winning any points, however your statements are very set on destroying this dog, if I was a breeder, and I read this, i would not be selling any of my dogs to you.
This is not a personal attack on you as a person from your web site and your posts I don't disagree with anything you have said, I think you are outgoing, no nonsense kind of man, I just think it was a mismatch....she is feeding off your energy, personality, etc...she is an animal and animals adapt...she may be able to adapt to someone else and their life style..she may make a good pet...and may have a great life in a city with daily walks in a park where all disturbing noises that excite her will become constant white noise...
I know from your posts that your mind is made up...you can't blame me for trying...you  probably would have done the same thing....

best of luck....PM me if you change your mind...anyone can euthinize her pretty much anytime...whats another 6 months in someone else's house...right?

 I find threads like this PATHETIC. Why does a person have to SEEK OUT breeders breeding what is nothing more than a GSD with proper temperament???!

Sad, sad state of affairs when someone has to specify that they want a stable dog. When will the egomaniacs learn that breeding for points is ruining the dogs? You can mask shit temperament with ridiculous prey drive, but you cannot make a stable dog out of an unbalanced basket case. And who pays for this indiscretion? The poor freaking dogs who were created this way through ego and disregard for all things important in breeding. I find it sickening. This is the whole reason I started breeding; every year there are fewer and fewer dogs I would want to own, and I'm nowhere near owning dogs.

A GSD should be your constant companion. Not your kennel dog that you take on the field once a week and then put it away again until next week because the dog is unsuitable to coexist peacefully with you. Yuck.

I doubt that this will change your mind about executing Cassie, or "It" as you call her. But here goes anyway.

Cassie is not dangerous. There are good homes available to Cassie. And while it's no fun to be skittish, Cassie is not so miserable that she wants to die. So there is no reason to kill her.

Could it be that your real reason for killing Cassie is that you are getting even with her for not turning out to be the dog you wanted? For "wasting" all that time you spent trying to fix her?

Suppose for a moment that you had been born with a skittish personality. Would it help you become braver to live with someone who planned to murder you if you didn't live up to his expectations? Cassie must sense your hostility toward her. This is why she would probably do much better elsewhere, even with poor genetics.

Cassie is not an "It." She is a living, breathing canine soul who has her moments of joy and desperately wants to live. She is not yours to destroy.

If you execute Cassie, what will you do when you cross over and are forced to look into her eyes while she asks you, "Why?" What will you say to her? What will you say to God?

Powerful words, murder, execute, god, but in the end she is yours to do with as you please.
I would know but apparently your in doubt.
Have the dog evaluated by someone who knows, and stop looking for support on the Internet.
Then make your choice.
I feel sorry for the dogs in the hands of some people.

I never got the impression he was looking for support  for Cassie.  He knows the dog and has made up his mind. People are giving their opinions on her on their own accord.  I'm sure he is regreting even mentioning her.

Hey, it could be worse, he could be breeding her.

As for looking for a well bred shepherd, I'd trust Prager.

If I wanted to do ring, I'd look to a breeder that participates in ring, or at the very least schH.
