My two dogs live in the hosue with me...they have their own double beds (I buy two dog beds for each dog and stack them!) in the dining room/ office, I keep my home office in the dining room.  I do not crate them at home, though they are completely crate trained.  They are not allowed on my couches or bed,  they can have the whole rest of the hosue, lol!  The rest of the time they are with me at work or hiking. They are very happy dogs!

My dogs both live in the house. Chase used to always sleep on my bed, but he's gotten so big he pushes me onto a tiny little corner until I make him go sleep on the sofa. You can see in the photo how big he's gotten, and that's a 92 inch sofa with his own sheet, pillows, and blankey.

All three live in the house. But the majority of the day they are either outside in their kennels, 5'X10', out of their kennels: training, playing or just hanging out. Or in their crates in the truck going wherever I am going. My Reiker, 8 &1/2 yoa has always gone wherever I go if allowed. My Anastacia, 16 mos. the same. And the new addition, Arabella, 11 weeks old will follow in the same tradition. Ana & Bella will be service dogs and the "intentions" were to kennel them outdoors, 24/7. But  where I live I'm a mile off the main road and there is only one way in and out. Every little critter or noise in the woods and all hell breaks loose. So, I try to be courteous to my two neighbors and bring them in at night. Also, (and we'll probably have the pro/cons of keeping service dogs in or out of the house?) but I just fell better with them in. I see lots of times people go back and forth on potection dogs and what they can and can't do, will and won't do. The dogs can't protect you if they're kenneled 30 yards from the house! Right now with Bella just being acquired as soon as she cries it's time to get up and take her out to do her business, so the nights are broken for now. Anyways, they live indoors but in reality they're only inside at night. The kennels are on a platform 16" off the ground and there's a roof overhead so weather's not a problem And if I'm somewhere that they couldn't come they're outdoors where they're happy.

My dogs used to live in the house until we started renovations and with loose wires and power tools and the like it was too dangerous to keep them inside so i built kennells for them they are 8 ft by 5 ft concrete walls with steel doors sheeted half way up and mesh for air flow and light the rest of the way up with a drop latch and with a galvanised roof and an enclosed run with a galvanise roof and concrete floor, there is a shore with a large storm drain for washing them out they are painted blue and yellow and a 6 to 8 inch bed of paper and sawdust, i also have a few big convector heaters that i put out there in the winter, i have the dogs trained not to go too near them they understand from being in the house. i have 4 dogs i have 6 kennels built and another 12 to be built sence im starting to get more comercial im extending their enclosed roofed yard and putting in a tiled kind of maternity suite with built in radiators and a red lamp incase i need it and rather than having to bring them inside to wash them in my bath im putting in a tiled bath built out of concrete kind of like those built in ones that look like a tiny little swimming pool that you can have as a bath and shower.

our three live in the house with doggie door access to the backyard. claire, our mali, sleeps with our son, angus sleeps throughout the house, usually ending up in our bedroom in the wee hours to crash on his bed or the floor and the stinky dinky mutt sleeps between my husband and myself. if its cold, he sleeps under the covers. during the summer, i often sleep on a sofa bed in the den. there, i have angus, boscoe rags and often claire with me. it does get crowded. its really the only place angus wants to sleep on a bed with someone (me).  thank heaven.

I have two dogs, a female 21 months and a male 1 year, they live in my house they are only in a run when we are at work, they have  5' x 10' kennels we built in our basement when we are away.  They sleep with us at night and my male likes to sleep in bed with us, the female will only get up on the bed for a few minutes and then it's on the floor to her fur blanket.

Both of our dogs (female LC GSD and male Shiloh Shepherd) live in our house. They go out to run around in the yard, for walks and to do their business. They eat right next to each other in the kitchen. At night they sleep in the our bedroom, on their beds or wherever they choose, except in our bed. During the day they sleep throughout the the house, on one of their many dog beds or on the floor and sometimes on the couch if given permission. They truly live the good life :)

I have a 9 year old male and an 11 year old spayed female and a 9 month old puppy.
They all live in the utility room ajoining the kitchen of my house. They have access to the garden day and night through a dog flap in the utility room door. They are allowed into the kitchen in the evening to sit with me while I watch TV but still seem to like laying in their room most of the time except for the pup who loves to be with me as often as he can. The two males get 2-3 hours off lead exercise every day out in the woods and fields but the old girl prefers to stay at home and just watch the world go by.

To all the people who keep there dogs in the house,
How often do you wash your dogs? I own my first GSD and would love her to be in the house with us but most books ive read say only to wash them 4-5 times a yr??? how do you avoid them getting smelly or shedding everywhere or how often do you wash them??? :)
thanks

G D....
In my opinion, if you use a very mild hypoallergenic shampoo and rinse well, there should not be any problem washing as needed. My dogs are very clean living in the house. . I am a fanatic about clean and I still only bathe every couple of months or so ( the dogs that is...lol..).....Thats my opinion....Good Luck..
