Beewax, assault rifles are already illegal. By definition they must be fully automatic machine guns. Don't believe this, then ask an expert or call the BATF office in a large nearby city and ask them about the law on this.
Authorities caught pre-programming survivors statements. Consider this very strange story. Is this a normal reaction for a surviving father to laugh and smile about his child's death and fake his story by reading it off a scripted card?

Yes, in spite of her busybodiness and flaws, I kind of like her style overall. Feisty and no victim. Probably quite assertive as a person. We need more citizens like this. And no phoniness, she says what she thinks, like it or not. Perhaps could work on being more open minded and accepting of divergent opinions. But overall, a pretty good person it seems.
