Red Sable

Ibrahim, I have seen some WL's with tight coats (which I don't like) but I have seen some tight coated showlines too.  My dogs have beautiful coats, honestly.  I am picky when it comes to looks and temperament.

I've trained all my dogs to be calm - even the borders I've had (though far more challenging). Yes, all dogs require training - some more than others.

I myself have not had a WL, only worked with them. Most I've worked with are being trained because of lack of effort on the owners part, or the dog genuinely lacks an off switch and needs something to do at all times (similar to some Borders I've had).

My dogs generally don't get up when I get up. I actually put a halt to that. I move a great deal and if they get up when I'm moving boxes, it endangers them.

Ibrahim

I have to disagree with you on SL in general being the more correct structure. When I say this I am referring to WGSL breeding.  I have however seen photographs of your dogs, and if I remember correctly I commented that I wished all showlines had a topline like your dogs?   I think I am correct?

Of course there are great variations in SL structure, and some are far better than others, but IMO the good working line dog fits the standard much more accurately than showline generally, and of course brings working ability to the table as well..

Here is an interesting dog to consider - Cliff vom Huhnegrab:

An absolute showline dog who participated four years in the Bundersiegerprufung, finishing in the Top 10 on three occasions.

Here's another showline who did well in the BSP - Max von Batu (that's right, same kennel as Ursus von Batu, probably THE preeminent showline dog of the last 15 years):

Donald I don't mind the structure on the dogs in the links you posted.  They don't look like someone stomped their butt down!

Interesting although lengthy article on declining show dog influences in working dog lines:
