Zmeli, FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS FOR YOU IS BRUCELOSIS TEST ON THAT BITCH !!!! NO IF'S NO ANDS NO BUTS GO STRAIT TO THE VET TOMMOROW WITH THIS IDIOT AND GET THAT DONE !!!! I don't think you understand... Brucelosis posative means that the bitch has a Venerial disease passable to anything and everything she breeds with, and then they pass it to anything and everything they breed with, NO LIVE PUPS !!!! Pups are usually born dead, however in rare cases they can survive several months some even to adulthood,(VERY RARE) However they're quality of life is shit, and they too are Bruc posative and will spread it to anything they breed with and so on and so on. DO YOU UNDERSTAND ???? This is not funny, This is not just a mistake or oversight, You may well start an epidemic if you don't get a handle on this, I'm shocked too that the bitch owner did not ask for a bruc pull on your male before breeding to him, I ALWAYS DO. Honestly, I think you have alot to learn you had in a few of your posts indicated that you wish to learn "HOW TO DO THINGS RIGHT" (your words) YOUR DOING EVERYTHING WRONG SO FAR YOU NEED TO STOP, You should have stopped breeding that bitch when you first posted your first post and said she was only 18 months old, do you even realize that she will probably never OFA Good now ???????? YOUR NOT DOING ANYTHING TO IMPROVE THE BREED, YOU WILL BE THE REASON SHEPHERDS GET A BAD REPUTATION AGAIN IF YOU DON'T STOP !!!!!!! YOU NEED TO DO THE RIGHT THING !!!!!! YOU NEED TO GET FURTHER EDUCATION. That's all I will ever say to you again, until you can take some responsibility and STOP your BAD behavior, and irresponsible breeding practices.

Echomeadows : Read my thread posted on the other heading. Veronica said her vet told her in 20 years there have been vertually no brucellosis? Can u believe a vet would say that? Did u have a good Christmas? Its cold here now and I like cold as long as the rain stays away and I think I saw it in tomorrows forcast.......

by EchoMeadows on 03 January 2007 - 10:01

I know my vet won't say that, He's attiment about testing and quite frankly so am I !! We had a busy christmas, it's warming up here, Finally, It's been cold and the change is really nice. My new year was awful !! LOL I'll explain someday. Hope you had a nice christmas, and happy new year !! Oh ya and I read that whole thread and noted that Zmeli never did reply about the brucelosis test. and whoever that is saying there's no brucelosis is nieve and an accident waiting to happen, when she looses a whole litter, or a stud dog to it she'll learn.

It is true that brucellosis is not found very often these days (if ever), doesn't mean we still shouldn't be aware of it and do everything we can!

..you know some countries don't have to Rabie by law. ..maybe it's a geography thing. ???

by DKiah on 03 January 2007 - 13:01

Some countries don't have a Rabies problem.. I believe Hawaii is one of them.. quarantines in these countries for animals is really long.....

Echo, I don't know if I missed something but you stated " do you even realize that she will probably never OFA good now ??????? Did this dog have poor hips to begin with or was she borderline? I appreciated your post, just wanted clarification on the H.D. issue. Thanks

When young females lax for birthing, it's hard to get that back, sometimes my understanding more times than not it does not come back, and therefore will show up on X-rays, That is my understanding !! I have no proof to offer you of this, this is just simply breeders I've spoken with, and my Vet as well, My daugher's dog was accidently bred and well it's the harsh reality that we will now have no choice but to spay her as she will likely not OFA as well as she could have if she had not had a litter before she had been x-rayed. It was never our intention to breed her, she was to be spayed after her OFA's as my daughter is trying to cert with delta for service work, She takes her to local assisted living homes to do visits with elders, They sure seem to enjoy it, it's hard to leave sometimes cause they seem to "perk" up so much and it's sad to have to take that source away. Anyway to answer your question It is my understanding of it, and again I say that I have no proof but this is from several breeders, trainers, and my vet. Also I think Shelly posted something about this too, Can't remember but I think it was her basically saying the same things I've been told as well. PS Shelly if it was not you I appologize ahead of time not trying to get myself into trouble here. :-)

Have never heard that or seen it EchoMeadows, although it is true that hormonal changes can have effects on joint laxity and that is the reason for not submitting films on a bitch when she goes into heat.. I've never heard that whelping a litter will change them forever.. seems like a good question to ask OFA. they are pretty good about answering questions... Yellow Rose, my statement was based on my experience, 10 years as a vet tech.. it happens in farm animals but still not so much in pets... I still believe we need to be certain we have a negative test result and do all my girls before they are bred (each time).. Hope that clears things up
