Even though the SV is the No.1 GSD
guardian/guide,
it's hard to quantify how many extra-good dogs (with formidable pedigree) that had been religated and side-lined by the SV for wearing the longcoat. I checked-out "Pico" and wondered where he would have being or ended should the SV not "changed gear". I also still wonder, if he was born in german, would they still have denied him being shown because of his coat. "pico vom wonderful tail", that's what i call him.

Don´t understand the problem.
Pico was shown in the "longcoat ring".

yes, he was shown in the "longcoat ring", now he can be shown anywhere there are show GSDs. But what'll happen to the "longcoat show", will they be collapsed into the main gsd show or still be a different school of thought?

The longcoated hair are showed in a separate ring and are checked separately in normal GSD-show . It will also be in Nuremberg.

There are still some breeders that don´t join the SV. As the LSTH from other breeding organisations may be joined into a register and it´s possible to breed them (under SV-rules), those breeders will have problems as they can sell their dogs only to a special group of people.

the longhair will still need in the SV some time to assert itself as a standard. But many SV-members love the LStH. He will have a future
