Hi could any one give me some advice,my puppy barks at dogs and puts her back up when they come near her,if they come to close she will go to snap at them.is this known as fear aggression We have been to puppy classes which she is fine with its just older dogs she has the problem with, any advice would be appreciated.

Where is her tail? Is it up high or tucked between her legs?  What about her ears? Are they pricked forward or pinned back and down?  If she is tucking her tail and has her ears back that would be fear.  Hold her and let a friendly dog sniff her.  You might have to make her lay down and be submissive during this.  She should be better socialized if she is in puppy classes.  Do they allow the puppies to freely romp around or are they always on leash?  She can't be socialized properly if she is not allowed to behave "normally" by sniffing etc.  What ever you do when she behaves this way, don't pet her and tell her it's ok.  She needs to know this behavior won't be tolerated.  Good luck with her.

her tail is up, some times ears are up and some times down.the noise she makes is like the dog is hurting her, would you keep her on the lead? because today i had her of when she saw a dog she would go running at it and barking but not fully go up to it then run back to me.could it just be lack of confidence.

Sounds alot like she lacks confidence.  Yes definately keep her on a lead until you see how she reacts up close to the other dogs.  If she is showing teeth during this time you need to be able to protect the other dog.  I think she wants to make friends and just doesn't know how.  Ease her into it but she needs all the doggy contact you can stand.  Some good advice on your other thread.
