I saw my first Biewers at an International show in Orlando Florida about 10 years ago. (IABCA)
I thought they looked like yorkie and maltese crosses. Cute but not my kind of dog.
Currently they are a cash cow for puppy mlllers and BYB. Because they are easily getting over a $1000 a piece for pups. For all basic purposes they are miscolored yorkies.

They have their very own section and forum now.

Most look like they are bred to be Companions / Lap Dogs / Pets. Maybe bark or alert if they hear or smell a prowler.

And $1000 is a lot less than the $2000 a standard color one brings.
Just because they are different colored don't mean they ain't purebreds. I guess every breed has those naysayers within the breed that cry foul because of the color.
Seems most breeds have what some consider offensive colors and sizes.
Nature is just funny like that tho.

Funny you should say that, Kitkat, I was just about to yell
"Lookit, PANDA YORKIES". Tee Hee.

That's basicly what they are hund...
As much as those that adhere to, and breed within the standard dislike them;
It's just a fact of genetics, they exist!

Here's my favorite of all the panda coloring, nothing as cute as the panda chow...
