Tykings former owner is standing a son and breeding a daughter of this dog-do not know hip or elbow rating on either, but both are very nice animals!

The point here is that this dogs elbows ARE bad. Because of this he should not have been/or be used for breeding.

I want to know how his owner can know for certain that Tyking's not passing on his elbow problem? Where is the proof? There is no information listed on any of his children here on PD regarding hips/elbows and there is nothing coming up on the OFA's website either. Without his offspring being x-rayed and rated by organizations like the OFA, SV or Pennhip I don't buy what the owner is saying one bit.

Regardless of what some people think, you cannot always tell if a dog has bad hips or elbows just by looking at them or watching them move.

Really like the breed type on this boy!!! Obviously, per the owner, he is not passing on this elbow problem or is dominant for it. This bloodlines are very sound. Sometimes early nutrition can cause deformity of the joints. I would use consider using this boy or buying a female from him. Gorgeous dog with TOP bloodlines. Tired of seeing the "feminine" West German boys!

Well you should have done your research beforehand and then you would have known about his elbows. His results are right there on the OFA's website. I agree he should be neutered based on his elbow results. He isn't breeding material.

well I own Tyking and have for a while now -when i bought him i didnt know he was supposed to have a bad elbow and have sold pups out of him - so far some have made it into service work and schutzhund as well as police work and not one of his pups have come back with bad hips or elbows -no complaints anywhere about any of his offspring and as far as i can tell he doesnt have anything wrong with his elbows -he has the run of 135 acres and goes with me everywhere either in my truck or running beside my horse and has never offered to limp at all -looks to me like if he had bad elbows and being right at 100 lbs he would definatley be showing signs by now ---so maybe hes not the one that needs fixed ?

This dog is rated Grade III Elbow Dysplasia which means "well developed degenerative joint disease with bone proliferation along anconeal process being greater than than 5 mm" and HE'S SIRED PUPPIES AND PROBABLY IS STILL SIRING PUPPIES!!

Whoever owns this dog, RESPONSIBLE OWNER FAIL get him NEUTERED and stop breeding him.
