I was the police officer who handled K-9 Roy after he was imported into the USA. He developed a gracillis contracture (muscle in his rear leg contracted and would not release) which began to limited his abilities as a patrol dog. I trained him in explosives detection where he would not be required to sprint, climb fences, etc. so he could continue to serve in law enforcement with another handler.

Roy had a solid character and was well balanced in his drives. Larger black and tan male with good bone and pigment. He learned quickly and was already tracking down criminals when the muscle injury occurred. Perfect around children and environmentally sound. Good example of the many foundation dogs in his pedigree.
