for sure, there are a lot of other countries that still have to solve SOME problems on the animal abuse, but I don't think in any of them the St. Bernard paw is a delicacy... that's what I meant - do you think there are dog shelters in Asia like there are in USA or Europe? or would a fur coats factory in which dogs are strangled be legal? or do you know anybody who would eat dog meat, especially knowing it has to be beaten to death first? I doubt it... that's what I meant - that there are countries in Asia that have no respect for animals, especially dogs; I've seen the German shepherds coats and, unlike some of you, I am not waiting on the sieger show results there - like Zoe said: can you tell for sure that one of these wonderful creatures progeny, on the second or third generation, or out of a not so good bitch, is not going to be worn?...

I agree with your comment to not point the finger ONLY at asia.Dogs are severally misstreated in most(if not all)parts of the world.I¿m not going to name specifffic countries and the practicies that goes on in them, since I¿d then get averyone from those nations yapping :) at me for mentioning theirs but not the rest, but sure the breeding,distribution,use-and missuse of dogs in the us is great and appaling too. However july probably did¿n want to list all dog-welfare problems that exist in the world,as I¿m sure that she is aware of them. She probably just find the practice of breeding/stealing of dogs to kill them (in the most grousome and touturesque(not sure of spelling))ways possible for meat and fur production so horryfiyng that she does¿nt like dogs(or their offsprings) to run the risk of ending up in such ways. For comparrison; we all(I hope)detest the practice of murder and feel for the families of those who are,but if a family-member or neighbour is murdered we feel much more strongly about it.That is probably how july feels when she thinks of the GSD¿s that are slaughtered commpared to the grayhounds in your example.I too have to admit that my emotional response was greater when I saw the GSD beig skinned alive than the other dogs. The differrence was¿nt big but it was there.I¿m sure that july does not think that it¿s JUST in asia that stummaqe-turning cruelty occures on a regular basis.(unless she is a rasist ,but I for one cant believe that of a person without serious "evidence")
HOWEVER I`D JUST LIKE TO POINT OUT THAT we in the rest of the world are just as guilty for the treatment amd slaughter of those dogs in asia and indonesia as "they" are "over there"IF we do not put preassure on their government and if we continue to buy fur and "softer"leather-products (if its dog,cat or other no one can be sure of without doing a DNA-tests wich are often impossible to get a real answer out of due to the extencive treatment that the material have been through.)ALSO remember to not buy any minced/ground-up bones and simmelar for your dogs.Pretty much all manufactrors of these buy "leftover-skin" from dealers who import this from, mainly, asia.Weither these are marked or not pretty much all of it contains mostly dog and cat skin.NOTE that it DOES`NT MATTER if THE BONES ARE MARKED "MADE IN USA,or, EUROPE"

It's not that only Asians eat dog meat or wear fur coats. It might be so that a few dogs which are used for meat or fur(though I don't support that at all)but that doesn't give anyone the right to comment that dogs shouldn't be sold to Asian countries(in fact some of the best GSDs are now in Asia). Every year over 40000 greyhounds are put down in USA just because they are not winning or they're retired from the track but the sport is not banned yet by the authorities so why point your finger at the Asians only?

Double D
I don¿t think that July ment that he or his offsprings of the first generation would be made into furcoats...
However purebreeds are used for fur aswell as food in those regions and the breeder that has got him now cannot control what happens to his greatgrand-children and generations after that ,eather by breeding or by being stolen for this use. I guess that that was what July ment aswell.I¿m I right July?

To July:
I don`t think that the beautiful which were sold for thousants of dollars are going to those factories.
I`m also intersted in seeing results of Asian Siegershows, because so many good dogs are there in one ring. And you can see the valuation between dogs better when the owner isn`t that important.

Don't you hate it, when you hear about beautiful dogs being sold to Asia? I do, especially after seeing the Animal Plenet film on the german shepherd fur coats factories there...

Does anyone know where this dog is now?
he was a very impressive male with good movement and color.

This is a dog pedigree, used by breeders and breed enthusiasts to see the ancestry and line-breeding of that individual dog. The pedigree page also contains links to the dogs siblings and progeny (if any exist). For dog owners with purebred dogs this is an excellent resource to study their dog's lineage.
